I m currently a fresh graduate looking forward to expand on the aspect of managing IT projects. Any project manager here willing to shed some lights on a 'starter' like myself? I'd like to know a clear ladder structure for such post as, I m particularly very interested to get some hand-on experience of handling IT projects. Also.. I'd be grateful if someone here willing to offer post similiar to Assistant Project Manager/Leader. (Kindly PM me!)
Thanks and have a nice day! ;D any inputs are welcomed.

LOL, i wanna share this thread too currently in the same shoe as you are mate! nevertheless, i dont think fresh graduates like ourselves have any shots on the IT Project Manager position just yet... even as an assistant. experiences are an important aspect in such field, so i guess we have to start from the bottom as the supporting staffs, correct me if i'm wrong! P/S: u might wanna put a [WTA] tag in front of your thread This post has been edited by liquid_ooze: May 25 2006, 04:03 AM

Getting Started

Yeah I think you just need alot of experience in the IT field to suffice u to handle a project... rite? Dont think of skipping the steps... I guess the position which u can gain most experience in project management (besides project manager itself) should be system analyst (or sr system analyst).. correct me if i'm wrong..

@Vv.SoViEt.vV, have any place in mind for interviews? maybe we can team up and go together... i've applied for like 20+ positions online, but so far has only received feedbacks like "kept for future considerations" or "rejected" LOL

It would be impossible to skip all the foundations needed to climb corporate ladder. I know the position of system analyst.. still I need the scope so I can focus onto. No harm enquiring and trying though. liquid, what position you have been through? Cheers.
