Immigrant clans
Chinese
- Hata clan (秦氏) - descended from Prince Yuzuki no Kimi, a descendant of Emperor Qin Shi Huang of the Chinese Qin Dynasty.

- Kawachi no Aya clan (西漢氏)

- Kawachi no Fumi clan (西文氏) - descended from the scholar Wani, ultimately from Emperor Gaozu of the Chinese Han Dynasty.

- Koremune clan (惟宗氏) - lateral branch of the Hata clan, descended from Prince Kōman-Ō of the Chinese Qin Dynasty.

- Ōkura clan (大蔵氏) - a branch of the Yamato no Aya clan.

- Ōtomo clan (大友氏) - descended from Chinese immigrants; no direct relation to the native Ōtomo clan (大伴氏) or feudal Ōtomo clan (大友氏).

- Takamuko clan - descended from Emperor Wen of the Chinese Cao Wei Dynasty; famous for Takamuko no Kuromaro.

- Yamato no Aya clan (東漢氏) - descended from Prince Achi no Omi, a great-grandchild of Emperor Ling of Han of the Chinese Han Dynasty.

- Yamato no Fumi clan (東文氏) - possibly a branch of the Yamato no Aya clan.
Korean
- Kikuchi clan (菊池氏) - descended from Seong of Baekje.

Actually there are more that , just unrecorded. Even yang gui fei , the famous beauty of china was disputably migrated to japan after the fall of tang dynasty.

After the fall of ming , there were immigrants who went to japan to seek refuge.

Cantonese movie which was based on the literature of late ming recorded that han cina went to japan too.

In short, cina/ han made up the majority of japanese today, just that they didnt identify themselves.

Signpost in Sennyu-ji temple, Kyoto

Lady Yang’s story is also popular in Japan where she is known as Yōkihi. The Japanese believed that she did not die in Mawei but had escaped to Japan and even have a tomb to prove it. In the Sennyu-Ji Temple, 泉涌寺, a Buddhist monastery in Kyoto, they claim to have a Guanyin, 杨贵妃观音, carved in the image of Lady Yang.

In 2002, the popular Japanese star, Yamaguchi Momoe, 山口百惠claimed that she was a descendent of Lady Yang.

Hokkien and japanese are more similar.

hokkien - sin seh
japanese sin sei
even the numbering system is more similar to hokkien rather than cantonese.

Cantonese, hakka and mandarin are created to sound after hokkien.

The "sound" reading for kanji is the approximation of the chinese reading of hanzi when the characters were imported from china somewhere around the 5th century. Chinese was the writing system used before the japanese had their own writing system. Early japanese literary works like the Kojiki is one such example where it is written in ancient chinese characters.

Therefore, the fact that something in ancient japan sounds "hokkien" or "cantonese" does not necessarily really mean it is chinese or from china.

u should understand they dont not like to associate with mainland for obvious political reasons just like taiwanese duh.

The mainland chinese decimated and oblierated a lot of han during the great mongol, manchu and communist era and the japanese invasion was retaliation against the traitors. It seems like u know nothing about history of asia.

taiwan and japan under one umbrella.
