QUOTE(H2D @ Aug 18 2013, 10:48 PM) earl-ku the folding mechanism seems to be sturdier than montague ... bro, how's the folding mechanism of the Change? the bike very interesting... can compare with montague... saw ur post on this bike, made a search... frame only is also available.. seems affordable... how else can you fold a bicycle..... the montague is american ... and change is taiwanese ... the folding is a bit troublesome at times ... |

QUOTE(H2D @ Aug 19 2013, 12:10 AM) troublesome is not a problem... once u get the hang of it then folding it will be easier ... easier ... but not a breeze ...solid it has to be... for off road bashing.... this bike is rare, even in taiwan... great that u can get ur hands on one... yeah there is a few videos of them using the bike on some mtb trail ... mine is a monocoque fork ... and there was a wild though of replacing that with a suspension fork ... I think I manage to locate the source of the creaking sound... its from the seat...
I read that it will need some cleaning on the post and clamps... And some ceramic grease required on the saddle rail... What else can I do and where can I get some ceramic grease... some say toothpaste should work too or should I get some normal grease from the hardware shop? |

QUOTE(2kia @ Aug 19 2013, 11:21 PM) nah, but def thought of getting one in future haha 4.4k for a monocoque fork ... and with a suspension in the front, will be bout 5kthe cheapest is less than 3k i think, with components worth only half the price compared to if u get a regular HT MTB.. 27sp acera groupset with XCR 80mm fork but i reckon the folding mechanism is better than montague.. ![]() This post has been edited by earl-ku: Aug 19 2013, 11:29 PM |

QUOTE(etigge @ Aug 20 2013, 07:44 PM) There's a price war among the dealers. Therefore, when you call, they give you a price that is allowed by the wholesalers. If you go directly and negotiate, the price might be lower! doesnt hurt to go walk around those shops ... go a few shops ... see who you "syiok" lah ... service and friendliness matters ...Afterall, other than the bike, you still need helmet, front and rear lights, gloves, bottle cage etc. for me even though the price might vary ... but if that shop is friendly ... i would pay the difference and its an outdoor sport ... stop checking price online and calling ... get up and go out |
