Does anyone have those mud guard accessories installed onto their foldies? will the additional part affect the folding? I am thinking of installing one, apart from acting as a protection to my baju, it will also make the bike look more garang tongue.gif

Sample image as below. Note: not my bike.

Which is the best for newbie? Where to get it?

Newbie here too. I just got my hands on the Louis Garneau LSG-POP about a month ago. Light ride, smooth shifting, no complains so far. Once you get your hands onto a foldie, you will somehow or rather start putting on "make ups" for your 2-wheeler. Good entry level foldie i would say. rclxms.gif

I would like to ask if anyone is using a T6 or U2 LED headlamp for your foldies?

Appreciate if any of the sifu here can share comments and also the source of the product.

I know there are tonnes of them available on the internet, especially from taobao.com, the only thing is which one is reliable.

Appreciate all your feedbacks. Thanks a bunch!

QUOTE(H2D @ Sep 12 2013, 03:02 PM)
great!  rclxms.gif

these days most stuff r china made..
so it is good to check the chinese forums...

now, tons of light from china, and the budget ones have
acceptable quality liao..

i saw ultrafire/uranusfire on tb, seems acceptable enough the quality,
price is really tempting...  drool.gif

i think for normal street riding... 200lumen is good enuff,
get one with higher rating, but use 200lumen for riding.
choose one with a large/wide 'spill',
if u dun ride a lot at night, might consider a flash light,
so u can use it off the bike.
but bike light with batt pack will last longer than flash light
with single batt.

dun worry about the batt pack, u can get it easily here.
there is a company at amcorp tower pj, which specialised in batt,
they can spot weld batts and custom make batt packs..
make sure the charger accepts 220v ++.

i believe u can find lots of info here in this chinese forum for starters...  biggrin.gif

I actually prefer right rides which is why I am looking for a bicycle headlamp and not a torch. But I do day rides too. My concern of getting a headlamp is that: how much will the difference be if I were to get one with 200 lumens vs those 1200 lumens? I know the power output is different hence the difference of lumens. But does the lumens affect the range throw of the lights? I mean, it would be good to get one with wide spill as well as a longer range.

I had my eyes on Knog Blinder Road 2, just that the price is quite high, and the running time is pretty low for a headlamp. My budget for this *fingers crossed* will hopefully within a RM100 range, which after looking at various posts on TB, ebay, etc, is very much unlikely as those products are all over RM100.

u dun need to throw so far la for cycling... unless u masuk hutan mtbing..  biggrin.gif
throw is also determined by the reflector, if it has smooth n deep reflector it will have a further throw.

u pay a bit more for quality la...
tb where got all over RM 100...

wana bet ur money on these ??  laugh.gif

i got mine for RM950. Survey around and you should be able to get something between RM850 up to RM1,050 depending on area and your nego skills laugh.gif

When i said area, i mean KL vs Ipoh as an example.

ride to town with friends to jalan2 cari makan indeed, n also ride to play football during the weekends cuz i find it hard to give up one over the other  biggrin.gif
u know, i was really keen on getting a mtb but as per the mtb thread, for rm2000 n less just choose the bike colour u like, components etc r not up to par for real mtbiking etc yada yada yada so i figure i'd save the money n get a foldie instead n see if i even like cycling.. n guess what, i nvr check out mtb again after that!

glad i got my foldie instead of mtb, imagine a mtb with mudguard n all the accessories that would make it look..sissy?  tongue.gif
u can get the china-made one for about rm100-130 at bbs

i just bought 1 recently n it's the newer version i think, where there's a cap for u to tighten n secure the cables between headlight n the battery pack
a heads up, it dsnt fold as compact as the other so u might find it a bit less convenient to lug around
*
Mind to share some images and also whre did you get the headlamp from? Many many thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

I had this in mind for some time now.

How do I ride from Kelana Jaya to Jalan Raja Chulan? I know the motorists lane starts right after the butterfly bridge before Sungai Way, but it ends around Mid Valley right? So where should I go after that? Do i still ride along Federal Highway or is there anywhere that I can turn into?

Appreciate your guidance. blush.gif
