this is the 4th weeks of working in my company... i wonder what should i do?... should i stay or should i resign...

here it goes the story... i was been told in the interview that i'll be given a training on company system in order to understand the overall company system... but i was been fooled as they didn't even give me any training and expect me to know everything...  vmad.gif ...

i already tried my best to do whatever i had been asked to do but sometimes really can't figure it out... somemore everyone keep rushing me... even though when i'm very busy, some of them still add burden to me by asking me to do this and that... i had been scolded by my boss few times because of this...  cry.gif ...

the funniest thing is, i'm the only one who are in charge of IT department... nobody else... shouldn't the company hire another It staff?...

I am giving suggestion on the part of people keep pushing you.

When I was fresh graduate, my knowledge on the product, process flow and sensitive cross-departmental relations were very very limited. In a work place, there will always be some people trying to push the responsibilities and unnecessary jobs to you for their own benefits such as buying them extra time, making their jobs easier by pushing the tough one onto you, etc, etc. The workplace is like a madhouse whether it is cinapek or MNC company. I suffered a lot initially being spinned so much because I wasn't equipped with necessary knowledge to defend myself.

To survive in workplace, you need to learn a lot about the technical knowledge, process flows, and company systems either by time or by working really hard. Knowledge is the best defensive weapon you can have to protect yourself against such people. For example, someone come to you with some unreasonable requests, you ask him by doing these stuff, will it serve the purpose or solve the problem? You then bombard them with your knowledge stating why you think so, that's where knowledge comes in. Always QUESTION their requests in depth so they can't take advantage of you.

Also, stand tough on your position until boss steps in. People will tend to bully people with no knowledge. Speaking about boss, you need to establish certain credibility to him, else he won't trust you. You have to show some results and acheivements to him, then when he has confidence in you, he will trust you.

Else, well, really sorry for you, but no worry, we all have the same problem, Malaysian workplaces are full of lousy bosses. They are just task masters, not leaders.
