Fam is targeting 3 more half malaysian young footballers.
But things can get more complicated than esltald's case as it will involve no dual citizenship rule .
Wonder who are they...

Raddy seems to be in the running as well:
http://www.themalaymailonline.com/sports/a...-football-coach Who would be a better choice, Raddy or Troussier anyway? Troussier is not familiar with Malaysian football, takut2 nanti end up macam Claude Le Roy. |

QUOTE(syazwan @ Sep 13 2013, 12:43 PM) FAM eyeing new recruitsBy REPORTS BY AJITPAL SINGH | ajitpalsingh@nst.com.my TALENT SCOUTING: National body approaches three young players with Malaysian ancestry THE FA of Malaysia (FAM) is the mood to recruit more players with Malaysian ancestry following Junior Eldstal's outstanding performance in the ongoing Merdeka Tournament. Eldstal, born in Sabah to a Swedish father and a Malaysian mother, has added depth to Ong Kim Swee's side in the tournament and the national body disclosed yesterday three young players of the midfielder's quality have been identified in Europe and Australia. It is learnt that FAM has made a move on recruiting these players but strict immigration rules mean they cannot hold dual citizenship. "We have identified several young players, who are half-Malaysians, playing abroad. However, we cannot disclose any more information until things are settled," said national youth coach Ong Kim Swee. Eldstal played in the lower leagues in England before the 22-year-old was spotted by former Australia international Scott Ollerenshaw in Sabah last year who then recommended him to Kim Swee and Sarawak coach Robert Alberts. The towering midfielder has been one of the more impressive Malaysian players in the Merdeka Tournament and his presence has surprised participating nations Singapore, Thailand and Myanmar. Eldstal, who joined Sarawak in April, however, did not play in the 3-0 win over Thailand on Wednesday due to diarrhoea but should be fine for tomorrow's final against Myanmar in Kuantan. Kim Swee said the team will play in an invitational tournament in Indonesia and likely head to the Middle East in November for the final phase of training before December's Sea Games in Myanmar. "I will only field Young Tigers A players at the invitational as those who are with clubs will be busy with the Malaysia Cup and senior international competitions. "I will announce the Sea Games training squad after the senior team play Qatar in an Asian Cup Qualifier on Nov 19," Kim Swee added. Kim Swee will have about three weeks to finalise his squad for the Sea Games. Mixed heritage players are the way to go, I agree fully to this. I think Junior's presence in HM has opened many eyes to this fact. Before this we were only lukewarm to the idea. I will remain opposed to the "naturalisation" concept btw, i.e. giving citizenship to foreigners simply for the sake of playing football.

QUOTE(aressandro10 @ Sep 13 2013, 02:43 PM) yap... adaptation is key... F**k adaptation, no Raddy for Harimau Malaya. I won't get behind some one who advocate boring lifeless football. Big minus also because he was former singapurapura coach. If want adaptation so much i rather we let Robert Alberts be our NT coach. He has good CV in SEA football and already he is somewhat Malaysian cos he is married to one. Although Troussier would be top of my list.a previously successful coach still is worthless if he cant bring the best out of our players. its not how much he have, its how much he can give us. just because he is a foreign coach, he should not get no more benefit of doubt than allowed to rajagobal. meaning if he fails to win aff cup, qualify to asia cup and at the same time raise FIFA ranking by winning friendlies, he should still be deemed a failure as rajagobal is deemed as. No problem if we can get mixed heritage players in NT provided we settle the nationality issue. Also FAM must monitor pure blood Malaysian oversea talents like Wan Kuzain and Tam so that we do not lose them to others. |
