i want to share my experience of yes fiz. speed and coverage is not bad. you get a constant 90% of the speed for a fraction of streamyx price. but BEWARE!

yesterday, suddenly my white zoom could not connect to network. no signal detected. so i told myself no problem, still under warranty. rma and buy a spare zoom.

so today, i went to the agent and was told my zoom had to be rmaed and need about a week to repair/check. fine! i want to buy a new zoom. sorry. you cannot. you have to subscribe a new plan. you cannot just buy a new zoom. period....

so now i have to fall back to my trusty old maxis bb.

fiz plan is contracted to 24 months, but zoom warranty is 1 year. so what happen if your zoom spoil after one year. need to subscribe a new plan and continue to pay existing plan for 12 months without able to use?

no wonder a few forummers in this thread cautioned us to being YES subscribers. a monster that is.

so beware any future Yes Fiz subcriber.

your case is that zoom of yours is downloading new firmware or whatever. i experienced the same before. my latest case was, there was no signal at all. anyway that zoom of mine is with yes. let see how long yes will take to rectify the matter. if not have to go and file a complaint report to suruhanjaya multimedia.

can buy other modems. also can buy black zoom. only can't buy replacement white zoom. have to wait for it be repaired or replaced. id is not transferable to new white zoom at dealer side. that's what i understand from the dealer and the yescare.

if you say stupid, that's is. really stupid policy

update on my YES FIZ problem

i just got back my white zoom. actually mine was replaced with a new one. returned to YES on the 20/10/14 and got back today, 28/10/14. with all the holidays in between, i could just said YES after sale service did a good job indeed

good question! i still don't get the answer yet. hope my new zoom could last until the contract finish.

rm89 now starting 1st october 2014. still berbaloi compared to streamyx 1mb

yes fiz is for budget users only and for areas with cable theft problems like in my place. we don't have tm line. so no streamyx. although only 1mb, the speed and stability is much better than streamyx. only yes fiz is not p2p friendly. but then you have other means to do so.

kl people have other choices that we the like here very much envy

as a subscriber of FIZ for the past 6 months, i would say the service is quite good except for occasional slowdown especially in mid-day. other isps also experience this. the important thing is, the speed is stable come rain and shine. we in the east coast is experiencing monsoon season, but FIZ is still delivering good service. i would say for the price, FIZ is worth more than streamyx.

from my experience, i don't mind paying more for a better speed than 1mb

standard package got quota. like some people said, speed like maserati but with 1 gallon of fuel

what i meant is maybe yes could offer a package of more than 1mb. maybe 2mb or 4mb and charged accordingly. 1mb is not sufficient with all the graphics heavy websites. surely i would not meant subscribe to 2 packages to get 2mb speed.
