Getting Started

Still contemplating whether to pledge or not, the project update is very little. I have no confidence or any idea of the gameplay being made..

QUOTE(Archaven @ Aug 13 2013, 10:35 PM) It's funded so freaking fast. Just wondering why the original guys not working for Squeenix anymore? There is a change of management expectations after the 10th game or something, where some of the original guys left Square. Then, they made the amazing Last Story. If only they get the lead designer from Last Story, then, the game will be perfect as the only black mark in the entire team is the current lead designer. Apparently, he has only done LA Noire as a QA Tester according to some unconfirmed rumors. To be honest, I am a bit skeptical with aussie game developers due to the fact that Australia is one of the country that doesnt have much experience in developing games. The talented developers will be hired by companies from US or Europe while the not so talented or fortunate ones will be left in Australia due to Australia also suffers from a bit of brain drain. We dont really see indie games from Australia too but I know the government recently started offer incentive for aussie based developers, probably they want to tax them to oblivion after their game is released as their highest tax percentage in Aus is about 40% after 100k income per year. He might do a good job, but considering this an all stars team, i kinda hoped for someone better. The art direction is amazing though, while the sample soundtrack is absolutely perfect. The chibi art style might pushed me to get the soundtrack edition. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: Aug 14 2013, 10:41 AM

Most probably will go gor the 50USD tier for the OST.
Hoping to have some real gameplay footage to assure me that this game is what I think it is.

I hope they could provide a clearer picture on how the final art direction would be. Would it be like the graphics of Project Eternity which something more realistic? Or would it be like Torchlight 2 and bent towards something more childish. At the moment the concept art seems to be indicating so. But anyway hope more information will be revealed soon

They better reveal more information as if not, i think im out. No gameplay footage, numerous and high stretch goals and disappointing first update that are very vague and some questionable developers made me felt a bit not confident with the team. There is still a month to go, so hopefully they will reveal more.

No gameplay, no lore, no nothing, just the title of the game and who making it, then gets so much money already, where to find such easy job?

You put the actress name, people will sure buy it. Seriously those guys have experience doing great game before....Unfortunely, i am not JRPG fan. JRPG game is too linear. Might chip in $120.

I'll hang around and see but to be honest, I am not very confident with how they run their projects in comparison to Project Eternity or Wasteland 2. Feels like the campaign has lost its steam and the way they handle the updates isnt very good to be honest. Getting 1.6 million might be a problem now. From experience, those "shut up and take my money" projects are the ones that come with a very strong pitch video, then release informative updates consistently. This is pretty much an all stars team though, so, hopefully they got some surprises down the line. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: Aug 15 2013, 02:19 PM

QUOTE(nate_nightroad @ Aug 15 2013, 02:51 PM) If you are not confident with the project then, dont pledge then. I think its a porrly run campaign with not much communication from the devs. Kickstarter is not a charity/preorder/investing platform, it is just a place where you donate whatever amount of your disposable income to try to make an idea into a product. There is no guarantee that the product will be made or it will turn out the way you want on time. If you are confident with it and dont mind getting nothing in return at worst, then fund it. If you are not confident with the devs and think you are entitled to get the product in time, then, dont. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: Aug 15 2013, 03:02 PM

QUOTE(nate_nightroad @ Aug 15 2013, 02:51 PM) Since they are some big names in the scene, scam is near impossible. Just felt that people are too easy to give in by just seeing who is behind this.
