I never use courier service to send things before, i plan to send one box of document within malaysia, anybody can teach me how can i do that? Are there anythings i should beware and pay attention.

Poslaju is fine, you can send it at any pos office or poslaju centre.

You don't have to wrap the box if it is plain colour, just make sure it is secured, cellophane taped all over. And you can also request from the counter for a flyer (the plastic bag) to add to its protection against rain etc.

Well, just put your documents in plastic bags first (to prevent it from getting wet) and seal the box.

Another thing with courier is that the size of the parcel. If it is larger than a certain size, some courier companies will charge base on volumetric weight. - which is much much more expensive than normal parcel weight. So check the size of your box first to make sure the courier company won't calculate base on volumetric weight.

I am really a beginner in this stuff. May i know whether Poslaju will put the documents in the mail box of the receiver or directly pass the documents to the receiver? Are there any differences between Poslaju and other couriers like Gdex, DHL or Skynet?

Ok noted, i will put my document inside the A4 sized box given by the printing shop, i will check whether this is considered big for the courier company.

Dont worry friend, theres a first for everything. I too was panicking for my 1st time going to post office to use Poslaju few years back and I was about 19 years old. If you use courier regardless of which company, they will not put it in the mailbox. They will go to the given address and look for the person, if its a home address then any of the people staying there can received unless you have given very strict instructions. They will ask them to sign for it.

From my personal experience (it will vary from others), if no one is home to receive it, Poslaju will never call and they will just leave a message saying to pick it up at their branch (it will be stated). Whereas Ta-Q-Bin & Kangaroo, they have called me before coming to make the delivery. So far I have use Poslaju, never have any problems at all. Other than the mentioned courier services, I have never tried the others.

You can call them to pickup from your doorstep, that will cost extra or you can go to their branches which you know of or go to the post office that offers Poslaju services.

Just remain calm and double check the details you have written and done. Hope this helps you in any sort of way

Poslaju is like any other courier, so the delivery needs to be signed by the receiver. Not much difference between Poslaju and other private courier except the price. For documents, Poslaju rate is usually the cheapest, unless if it is heavy (other couriers may get cheaper if the parcel gets heavier, e.g. more than 10kg). DHL is international company so it is much more expensive. (In fact I'm not even sure if DHL do pure domestic business or only cater cross-country shipments).

Another difference is most local private courier needs you to have an account with them to use their service. For poslaju you don't need to open an account.

Are you sending a big bulk of document that cannot be fit into an envelope? Note that any of these courier charge by weight so unless it is necessary, don't send by bulky box as this will only add to the cost.

Whether they will call or not, it depends on the drivers regardless of the company. I've met good guys as well as bad guys from either Poslaju or other private couriers.

Like I said, personal experiences, all varies. Different driver different working attitude. Previously I had no trouble with Kangaroo before. After they change driver, man, for my that area, they sure sucked. Parcel from PJ to KL can take them almost a week reach me. They never call, actually they went to the neighboring residence 3 times and said no one was home, but in fact I was home waiting for the parcel. Unfortunately, the neighboring residence name was similar to mine.

No worries, I didn't mean to point any wrong, we are just sharing our experience .

My worst experience was with Skynet, once the driver just tossed up my parcel inside my gate, and so happen it got drenched up by the rain. When I checked the online tracking info, the driver even have nerve to invent the name of the recipient .

Oh and another advice to TS, take note of the tracking number and check yourself its whereabout from time to time. Do not rely on them to call/inform you on the status of the delivery.

Hey guys. I am planning to send a phone to Sarawak using pos Laju. Should I declare it?

If i send to an office address in which the receiver is working, will the delivery guy directly pass the document to the receiver?
In my area here the only courier office i saw is Skynet and Poslaju only. Is the pickup cost high? Let say i use kangaroo and they dont have branch near my place they will still come to pickup?

For private courier, are they charge us when open an account?
I need to send few hundreds pages of documents which binding into few books, each book have thickness of about 1 inch, all A4 sized paper.
All are put inside an A4 sized box, i get the box from the shop, the printing shop got a lot of this box as they buy A4 papers in boxes.

Sorry cant be much of help on this. You may give the courier company a call to enquire about their rates. I never received it at office as Im still a student. Assuming it is the receptionist that receives the parcel.

Last time in post office, i saw people taken something like a box from the counter, if we use Poslaju, are they provide box and plastic bag free of charge?
