QUOTE(Ivan113 @ Aug 7 2013, 11:26 PM) I thought he was the guy with the highest winning rates against the Koreans, now he retired, non-korean no more hope? Taken from the TeamLiquid Player Database: vs win-loss duckdeok 0-2 Stardust 1-2 MC 2-0 Taeja 0-2 Jaedong 0-2 Hyun 0-2 TheSTC 2-1 Alive 0-2 MVP 1-4 ForGG 3-1 Coca 0-2 Last 0-3 Total 9-23 (28.13%) Overall (including games vs non-Koreans) during HotS, he was 63-54 (53.85%). Somewhat satisfactory, since HotS has only been out for 5 months. His WoL play was better. He went 857-421 (67.06%) overall, winning himself first place finishes in premiere events and more than USD 234,000 in prize money (4th overall after MVP, MC and Nestea, and the highest among non-Koreans). When I have time I'll nitpick his WoL record vs Koreans. Anyways, I commend his decision to leave the game and go to medical school. He was a good player, and nothing more, so I doubt he'd find work as a caster if he decided to stay in eSports. His casting during one of the Home Story Cups was meh. I hope he becomes a good doctor, and with how amazing healthcare is in France, he'll go a long way. |

His good seriously. Although my scene here don't focus Starcraft 2... But I admit he has a good run. Retiring with so much bucks is well deserved.

QUOTE(SiewKaiz @ Aug 14 2013, 02:11 PM) I concur.Stephano's best days were back in WoL. When Broodlord-Infestor was all the rage and almost unbeatable (even before the Ghost's Snipe ability was nerfed, and even against the Archon Toilet). On another note, Thorzain will also go into semi-retirement to go back to medical school as well. He will now only play Starcraft on a part-time basis. I can't post the source link here because I'm unable to open TL since I'm at the office but, it's on the TL Headlines. |

Exactly at $236,180 And he is ranked 5th in earnings after MC, Mvp, NesTea and Polt. Even the current world champion sOs is ranked 15th $135,260, that only because he got 100K more from recent BlizzCon. I don't think any Koreans will ever to achieve of what he did anytime soon. Anyway, he is going to become a doctor right? |

Not sure bro... I'm not a serious Starcraft 2 player. But I do love the game well.

QUOTE(kozekz @ Nov 15 2013, 05:01 PM) All I'm trying to say is, lets say he retired at 5th place.... And he will be there for quite sometime...... till some Koreans grab that place from him. is all. I agree. Gone are the days of US$50,000 and above for the 1st prize in tournaments for Dreamhack, Iron Squid, MLG, IEM, etc. In 2013, they've only provided a top prize of around US$20,000. It's still a considerable prize, yes, but not as big as the ones back in 2011 and 2012, which Stephano had won. sOs (or anyone in the top 10 prize money winnings) could probably top it in 2014, he just has to win 3 WCS seasons and the WCS Global finals. That would be US$175,000 easy. |

Progaming scene remain a niche market...unless the audience n supporter get as big as the premier league football with prime time viewing in any major channel...dont think the prize money will be big anytime soon...
