Ok, think I can help you, not much though.
Go to your local town council and apply for license and ask for further information. For example; I am from Klang and to apply license, we go to Majlis Perbandaran Klang (MPK). Tell them how many lots you need. If I'm not mistaken it's RM80 per lot.
One lot is enough if your stall is small but however if it's big like those sell biscuits stall - then you need 2 - 3 lots. I cant tell you if my information is 100% accurate but this is what I remember from what my friend's dad told me last time.
Good luck with your new business.

Ahhh, thats very useful information~ now i hv some idea about where to go. So the lots is per month or per year? Or per day? O.o? Perhaps i will need one lot to put my steam pot and another lot to put demo dish hehehe...

and also you need to approach the pasar malam leader in your place. because they have this fix lot/space allocation for everyone so licencing is with the local authorities only but for your lot/space allocation you need to discuss with the leader.

usually all you need to do is go to the DBKL or MPAJ or your local council to get a pasar malam permit. usually, the places are limited.

Think of my chicken rice looks like lo-mai-gai, not the conventional hang and chop type anyhow still testing around the recipe, didnt think much of the people will buy if its RM5 each, didnt think it will taste as good if not putting in all the best ingrediants as well...
