intro/background:
Personally, I own a Proton Iswara, co-owning a nissan sentra, test driven the proton inspira a lot and i've just applied loan/placed booking for one during the proton bola event ( https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3043053 which is where i test driven the Suprima S as well)

Test condition:
- generally the area around shah alam stadium
- ample amount of straights/corners/narrow twisting bends single lane, a bit dangerous if you want to zig zag.
- not too many uneven roads, some road bumps
- 3 occupant  (myself/test driving marshal/mom)

Interior:
- rough plastic all over.
- Meter/dashboard is OK i guess.
- driver seat may be a bit high, then again i'm used to damn low semi-bucket seats on my iswara.
- steering feels damn nice, obviously can't compare against my original momo steering but hey laugh.gif
- hate the european signal/wiper stalks laugh.gif
- ABSOLUTELY HATE the paddle shifts that follows the steering instead of static fixed at column
- gear knob seems a tad bit too tiny for me, and positioned a bit low. i kinda have to put an effort to reach for it and grab it :/

Exterior:
- ok ok, prefer a sedan myself.
- looks better than the preve although the front headlamps are a bit odd to me

Driving experience:
- Acceleration is damn good with the low boost (and very subtle mind you, i can barely feel turbo boost/spool at all!) 2-4k rpm optimal power band.

- the handling is DEFINITELY top notch, tackled many corners and zig zagging traffic at speeds exceeding 100km/h
test drive marshal was terrified, and my mom who initially forgotten to buckle up, was tossed from 1 end of the rear seat to the other end doh.gif (yes got scolded by her for that lol)
tires was screaming a lot, however no signs of losing grip/traction at all. ESC light never blinked too ( dares i also mission failed cry.gif )
it seemed like my throttle was cut despite me flooring the pedal on some corners that i have confidence with... no ESC indicator light despite that sweat.gif

- the CVT can be a PITA when you're trying to make it obey your down shifting commands - it has a maximum rpm to allow downshifting (again, virtual gears cuz cvt lol), and it's downshifting has a huge delay from the paddle shift. (i was later informed to use the gear knob instead of the paddles however it was after my test driving session so i can't verify it) there are a few times where i was spamming my paddle shift to downshift for engine braking but the thing wouldn't do it so had to jam brake and tire screeched a bit laugh.gif

mind you, the paddle shifting delays ALSO APPLIES to upshifting so that eliminates the possibility of the CVT RPM limit. many a times i want to keep it in the 5k rpm and see how fast the transmission can further apply power to the wheels it just wouldn't obey my shifting. in the end you're probably better leaving it in S mode and let it handle itself.

- due to the above 2 pointers (ESC throttle cut, my guess/assumption on this +CVT), there is a bit (very very minor TBH, could be a cvt issue also instead of the turbo) of turbo lag when i am exiting corners and the CVT whine gets VERY loud during this time.

- the hydraulic power steering is very firm but not too tiring even at low speeds. then again i'm used to the iswara anyways so this may be a bit biased.

- i have to say this though, during the whole driving session, there's a constant grin/smile on my face and i really wanted to push the car further if it weren't for the minor details on the paddle shifters/kept turning on the wiper as i signal, and of course the regular shah alam traffic/round abouts.

- aside from the part where my mom was tossed around prior to buckling up, she also commented that the ride was quite comfortable, decent legroom/space and pretty ok seats. air cond is also very cold (proton trademark lol).

Summary:
- really damn good handling car, with more than ample power/acceleration when it comes to daily needs
- good safety features, ESC in conjunction with ABS/EBD goes a long way in preventing accidents, and even if it does come down to it, 6 airbags is there to soften the blow.
- Very good throttle response despite on the same campro CFE / IAFM+ platform! (And yes i was VERY skeptical on the campro CFE + IAFM+) its WAYS ahead of the saga FLX and even better than the proton inspira which surprised me a LOT!
- interior feels a bit cheap however for the "important" parts such as the steering/seats, they are decent enough
- CVT whine can be a bit of a problem in overall NVH, and the engine groan about the 2-3k rpm while your car is at low speeds can be undesirable. at higher speeds road noise will take over smile.gif

+ torque/acceleration
+ safety
+ value
+ overall NVH
+ features

- CVT whine if you're doing spirited driving
- paddle shifters are pointless
- low speed/rpm engine groan/grunt.
- spare parts/repairs/service/maintenance, and cost *could* be an issue. however this applies to almost every new car anyways.
- may not be very appealing if you're someone who are into car modding as after market parts/upgrades are limited

Above review is coming from some who drives like an idiot, gets into accident often, speed junkie that visit track days time to time even with a slow car laugh.gif
