can i do OC-ing on a cheaper mobo such as the asrock h87m??

Actually I wouldn't do that, since Intel is trying to disable non-Z OC...

Don't update BIOS in future and don't install the hotfix released via Windows Update smile.gif
Than you can run non Z motherboard and k processor with oc for long while
