the problem today is the fact that 11speed groups have not gone down far enough or you could have saved a bit with 105 or rival / apex making the bike closer to 10k or sub 10k....

i believe what you listed is a manufacturer spec'ed complete bike while all swift in KL is all custom from ground up... meaning you buy frame only... the good thing is that you can choose what you want from there instead of spending time trading in stuff for something else...

or, you can actually get some stuff outside for example, finishing kit, wheels or even groupset....i'd say the zipp finishing kit is a bit too pricey as you might be able to save 100+ on ritchey or maybe even more if you go for probike gear finishing kit...

at the end of the day... you have to make your own choice.. there is many ways to go around this things....

fsa has some nice components... unfortunately... very hard to find in malaysia... when i did find the dealer... they bring in nothing but the carbon one...

i was trying to look for the omega compact... but, couldn't find it... it was very cheap when it was being sold in GH...but now they are no longer the dealer for FSA as far as i understand...

it won't break just by you being too heavy... trust me... unless there is some defects with the frame...i've seen bigger gorillas riding r3sl and tarmac sl's and those bikes did not break....

of course, there is no stopping you from buying alloy bikes... but, then again you just have to understand that the limitation of alloy is always there and it will never do what carbon is capable of truly....

yeah... frames usually are designed to be more resilient...

some wheels like like zipps will have a rider weight limit of 185pounds.... in fact most low spoke count or full carbon rims will have limit... pedal wise, most of the time no... super lightweight pedals might have it or speedplay titanium and above has the 185pound limit....

it's not that the pedal or component will break immediately... but it might not last long if used by someone over the weight limit and there is chances of failure...

definitely not comparable... high end ones will have weight that no alloy can match and it will always be stiffer... and with very advanced layups... carbon can also be made to be vertically compliant...

why not ask her to borrow a 2k - 3k road bike and see if she can chase her target down...

no point buying it and then find out it could not do what she intend to do with it... frankly, getting a road bike is not a guaranteed speed increase...

so, you might want to advise her to find things out before investing into anything since it might not be the bike...

it's just the truth mar... another example... let's say someone like me feels that tenga don't feel like the real thing... that doesn't mean that buying a fleshlight will mar... right???

else, other brand is most likely overbudget...
