 Which SC2 Tournament to focus on?, There are so many

There are so many SC2 tournaments, which one to focus one? and it's kinda sad to see the Koreans dominating SC2, I mean come on, where is the fun, doesn't feel like it's a global game, just like dota few years ago, China dominate the world, in top 8, there are 6 China teams, in SMM 2011, a malaysian international dota tournament, i even stopped watching when i know it's china vs china at grand final. In SC2, where is all the other famous non Korean? Grubby, Thorzain, etc etc, all I see is that mostly start from quarter final, is it all Koreans, the non koreans didnt join or all got knocked out? rclxub.gif and which tournament is the best interesting right now? there are few going on but I am not sure which one to focus on.

not saying that I hate Koreans, it's just boring to see an ethnicity conquering the game sad.gif it would be better to see more ethnicity at higher plays, just like dota2, there are europeans, asians, americans and stuff, it's like saying chinese are good at basketball and malays are good at soccer, what's the good of it? now that is racist saying chinese are good at basketball, there should be multiple races enjoying at top plays

Just like in SCBW, Koreans are the lifeblood of the SC2 scene.  I personally like watching Koreans play because they're the cream of the crop.  The best of the best.  And many of the Korean vs Korean games end up as spectacular games.  I used to watch the NASL and the non-Koreans just do not play at the same level as the Koreans in SPL and GSTL.  Korean mechanics are just awe-inspiring and a cut above non-Koreans.

Non-Koreans vs Koreans are nice games too, because the Non-Korean just tries his best to play against the Korean and the Non-Korean gets to show some flashes of brilliance.  Sen, Naniwa, MoonGlade, Stephano are, in my opinion (note the emphasis), a few guys who could give a Korean a run for his money, but over a Bo3, Bo5 or Bo7, my money's always on the Korean.

Yes, in any tournament with marquee Korean players, always expect to see a Korean bracket starting at the Round of 8.  The just-concluded ASUS ROG tournament had a few good Koreans on board, and, if I remember correctly, only 1 (or probably 2) Korean/s failed to make it out of the group stages.

And here's why Koreans (like Taeja, Stardust, Jaedong, DongRaeGu, Hero, among others) compete outside Korea:  They know that they cannot (or will have a difficult time if they) compete within Korea, most especially against the ace players Flash, Innovation, Soulkey, Rain, among others.  They know that they have a better chance of winning against non-Koreans outside Korea. 

Grubby, Thorzain, TLO against Taeja, Stardust, Jaedong? This might go either way but, I'm sorry, but my money is still on the Koreans.  But I do hope the Non-Koreans still show a good game and not be roflstomped.

Grubby, Thorzain, TLO against Innovation, Soulkey, Rain? No contest, Koreans all the way.

well, who's the closest non-korean that is almost on par with most pro korean? the one that has the highest winning records against korean

I already answered your question in my previous post.  The best Koreans right now? In my opinion? Innovation.  Soulkey.  Flash.  Rain.  And you still ask which non-Korean comes close to them? 

None.  Not even close.

HuK, Thorzain and Stephano competed for EGTL in the just-concluded SPL.  They played against Koreans every week during the SPL.  Stephano was the "best" among the non-Koreans with a 4-8 win-loss record.  He's nowhere close to Korean level.  Grubby? Irrelevant since HotS was released. 

HotS is a very unforgiving game for those who do not have the best mechanics.  So, as far as HotS is concerned, non-Koreans just do not have enough to match what Korea has. 

I don't know how else you could talk about SC2 if you get bored with watching the best (the Koreans), while everyone else in the world watches them so they could learn more than just builds.

Edit: By the way, Stephano will be retiring after August 15 to start medical school so yeh, one less of the best non-Koreans.

i read alot about sc2 saying about mechanic, what exactly is the mechanic? like tricks? or?

just inject with queen only is easy ar, but sometimes build extractor and manage drone there plus defending it, I cannot la, cry.gif oh, you are right, I should stop sending drones to suicide instead during late game. people play zerg apm 180 or above, my average 120 only sweat.gif

you are zerg player? how do you defend against terran drops? i normally put at least 1 or 2 spine crawler at mineral blindly, even if they don't really go for early drops, since spine crawler is movable, i can move it somewhere else later

my apm wasn't the result of spamming, I was actually doing real things all the time, if I have nothing to do, I'll just stop for that few seconds before continue mechanic, but just 140, I guess either my limit is there or I am not doing things fast enough in a correct way


anyway, I watched few videos from Apollo, Improve with Apollo, really nice insights there, he talks alot, i mean really ALOT about scouting, very useful tips, and there goes Day 9 youtube video channels too, but the strategy he talks about is very very deep, have to think for some time only understand what he says

i thought EPM should be the standard for evaluating the efficiency? how do they calculate apm or epm?

it is like

APM
click worker = 1 action
move worker to that location = 1 action
click zergling = 1 action
morph into baneling = 1 action
select hive = 1 action
select larva = 1 action
morph into zergling = 1 action

total = 7 action

is it like that? and how to measure EPM?
