QUOTE(yklooi @ Aug 20 2013, 12:48 PM) every 1k would be 490 in US, Jpn 44 and UK 140 only.....not much impact in % of portfolio allocation...... Single country fund is always risker as risk is localized. hit and run, hit and run?? Unless you're super confident with US market for the next 6 months. Then, you may go for US focused funds. |

@Pink Spider, @TakaC
He has his point and I have mine. I have another parameter to judge which is the potential of upside. It's really subjective. Aberdeen Islamic World Equity Fund doesn't have historical data. |

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Aug 20 2013, 01:46 PM) the point is, their holdings might have turned over i.e. changed, so high NAV may not necessarily mean that its underlying holdings are overvalued, i.e. the fund might have already liquidated their profitable holdings. Based on current wind blow, I'm overweighting OSK-UOB GEYF over AGEF becaus AGEF has 2/3 in Asia ex Japan. Aberdeen Islamic World Equity Fund also good as it has >= 70 % outside Asia ex Japan. If wind blows steadily at the correct direction, AIWEF will have more upside in the near term if QE3 is being tapered accordingly. |
