QUOTE(h11g @ Aug 2 2013, 12:51 AM) I would say this is by far the most informative first page of any smartphone thread here on LYN. two thumbs up TS Thank you but I wouldn't be able to post as much info without all of your contributions. I was a serious noob when I got my Note 1 So now do share some contrasts between Note 2 and XZU since you have it falling out of your pants already. I would like to ask if you could perform a slightly extended test by trying to treat the XZU as a paper notebook for 1 day. I am interested how this turns out. This would show if palm rejection is a non-issue if you keep your writing hand to the side of the screen, and allow the XZU to be used as a multi-page notepad during meetings. I use the Note 2 to scribble multi-page notes. Appreciate if you could oblige.

QUOTE(Xirality @ Aug 2 2013, 01:27 AM) True! Even when i go on first page. Need take some time to load all the contents! Btw ts you going to get Note3? Not 100% sure. Depends if the XZU is good enough. If the XZU suffers a catastrophic price drop, it can be compelling. The competition for huge phones has gotten extremely interesting this year. If it turns out to be 5.9", I think I won't hesitate to get the Note 3.

My conservative calculation of powerbank capacity is max 0.7 of the listed capacity. It's from (3.7/5) x 0.8 efficiency.
For 1 full charge note 2 u need 5k to 5.6k mah. YMMV.

QUOTE(remonx @ Aug 2 2013, 11:04 AM) What info should we take note to buy external battery? We should focus more on input or output V/A? You mean power bank? High input will charge the bank faster, high output will charge your phone faster. Buy from reputable sellers and buy genuine items please.

QUOTE(remonx @ Aug 2 2013, 11:54 AM) Means from 12k MaH i only get 9600k capacity from the anker powerbank? How about the Yaobao 11k MAh powerbank in terms of the real capacity output? See, from what I understand, after reading about the powerbank thread I linked in post 4, you can get a variance. Anyway, if you take the first case : (3.7/5) x 80% = 59.2% Second case : (4.2/5) x 80% = 67.2% The reason for 4.2 is coz at full capacity, the battery is at 4.2V. If you take 67.2 x 11200mAH, you get 7526 REAL mAH, which translates to about 2.2 times charge. In reality, it's about there, maybe 2.5 times charge. You can verify this by taking a known GOOD power bank and charge. I have observed that this is correct. I thought you're an EE guy.

QUOTE(remonx @ Aug 2 2013, 12:05 PM) EE for my general study only but specific in Mechanics. But anyway, i know the calculations but why do u assume it is 3.7/4.2 input voltage out of 5v? Coz the 18650 batteries or even LiPo are rated for 3.7V, and go to 4.2V when full. It will drop as you use it down to 2.8V where the protection circuit stops the battery. So you get a 7805 or similar power transistor which converts input from 1.5V to 12V into 5V, which is where you get the conversion loss.

QUOTE(nicodemus88 @ Aug 2 2013, 11:47 AM) Just got my new Note 2 about 2 weeks back, and really loving it. :-D really enjoyed the SPen enabled SNote, makes taking notes & jots much easier... Anyway, just wanted to know if a 17hr battery life with 5hr SOT normal for Note2? It feels like though my battery was draining quite fast... Usage per se - roughly 1hr on mobile data (Email, FB, Line), 1hr offline manga browsing, 1-2 calls, some text messaging, about 1.5hr gaming (Pou, Where's my Water).. Otherwise, the phone is idle... Thanks for your feedback! 5hr SOT is GOOD. You got to PLAY for 1.5 hours, and still have another 3.5hrs of active use (ie staring at the screen). No other phone (except those on Wifi only or Airplane Mode, or the large capacity phones) can give you this. BTW please add yourself via the form in post 4. Some news: USB 3.1 Specifications Published, Supports Speeds Up to 10 Gbps http://www.cnx-software.com/2013/08/02/usb...-up-to-10-gbps/...... So after Full Speed (12 Mbps, USB 1.1), High Speed (480 Mbps, USB 2.0), SuperSpeed (5Gbps, USB 3.0), we’ve now got SuperSpeed 10Gpbs (SUPERSPEED+) with USB 3.1. The standard is backwards compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, but apparently not USB 1.1. It will also allow for up to 100W to be sent through a USB cable.

Department of Paranoia: How Google searches for 'pressure cookers' and 'backpacks' led the cops to a writer's door http://www.theverge.com/2013/8/1/4580654/m...acks-bomb-scareAll it took was a few humble Google searches to send shivers throughout the collective spines of the internet this week. Michele Catalano, a writer for Death & Taxes magazine, wrote on Medium about how a group of armed men suddenly showed up at her house in Long Island, New York, on the morning of Wednesday, July 31st and began questioning her husband about "pressure cookers" and bombs. Catalano, who said she wasn't home at the time, recalled that weeks prior, she searched for pressure cookers online. And that her husband separately searched for backpacks. And that her 20-year-old son had used the internet to follow the news of the Boston Marathon bombing, which was reportedly carried out with pressure cooker explosives in backpacks. ........

QUOTE(nicodemus88 @ Aug 2 2013, 05:08 PM) Thank you very much. I notice the "Replies to me (BETA)" but sometimes it doesn't work because sometimes I am not informed about replies to my posts... I usually check myself manually... But again, thanks a lot for your feedback! I know that nobody is obliged to reply to my posts.. That is why I am politely asking again for some feedback, as I really do want to know the condition of my new phone.. Again, thanks a lot to those who replied and comments... I will take note of it... Well then you should read postings carefully and avoid missing replies to you.
