Anybody experienced battery sudden death issue?
It happened a few times on my nexus 4, whereby there's still around 20-30% of battery, while I was using it, the phone went off and I couldn't power it on again. Connect to charger, power on the phone and the battery became 0%

Quickly launch battery analyser app, it shows that it should last at least 2-3 hours before the battery deplete. Weird.

I would like to get the battery replace at service center, but wondering how should I proof/demo this problem to them? It happens randomly. And will it destroy my back screen protector if send in for battery replacement? Since they need to open the back cover.

Hi, got a little urge to look for 2nd hand N4, but the only major thing stopping me now is the non-removable battery.

As I know, battery life will eventually deplete and will need to buy a replacement battery(be it original or oem or sunglobal etc), but what happens when the battery is non-removable?

Another thing is, what happens when the device freeze? Cuz my normal practice now(I'm on Gnex) is if nothing works and the screen just freeze(for whatever reason since I do go for light custom rom and kernel) I'll just resort to battery pull and it'll solve everything. But I wonder what I'm gonna do if battery is non-removable?

thanks.

you can always change the battery in SC. It costs RM80 according to some forumers. Btw, when it freeze, just press the power button long enough or going to bootloader.

No worries about the battery actually, mine is about 9 months and still going strong with cm10.2.

If you did refer first page, the battery replacement cost RM80 and can be replaced on the spot.

I'm also on GNex btw (like to lurk here though, more active here biggrin.gif)

I'll hold my money and wait for Nexus 5. GNex serving me very alright.

For phones with non-removable battery, long pressing power button will "kill" the phone just like your laptop/PC. It will completely shut down then you can power it up back. On GNex, long pressing won't work but can pull battery. Nexus 4 IINM even in bootloop, long press power button can cut its power. Not so sure biggrin.gif

thanks, so even AP N4 also can change battery at SC? Or only original?

I wanna wait for N5 as well but then again the price will definitely be out of my budget and I probably don't need that high specs, N4's 2GB and quadcore should be enough to get me smooth multitasking. Current Gnex will ocassionally lags when heavy multasking switching between apps.

laugh.gif GNex is good enough for me at the time being. Upgrade 2 generation later is good enough.

You pay for battery replacement so I think they will accept. Just not sure whether they charge extra.

+1. The price will only go down, not going to go up. Just to worry that when google announce Nexus 5, you won't be looking at the Nexus 4 because the Nexus 5 could be too tempting biggrin.gif

I'm saving up myself some cash to buy the Nexus 5 and the refresh version of Nexus 10. Although currently Nexus 10 selling at RM849 but I prefer Qualcomm Processors like the on in Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) drool.gif

Another off-topic sharing, the Nexus 7 LTE 32GB RRP RM1299 Confirmed. drool.gif

Trickstermod. With of course, the kernel which has the capability. Franco? I'm not sure. Is it called hotplug?
