If you want to use this phone till it's full potential, you need to spend a lot more time studying... not just a normal consumer phone

fyi, multi screen function is NOT by samsung, it just copied this from 3rd party dev.  i have been using multi screen long before samsung CLAIMED to have "innovated" it

this is why i really dislike apple in the first place, they copied stuff from other ppl's hard work, doesn't give ANY credit to them, then made a big deal out of it by making itself look good because they "made" this awesome feature.  this is exactly what samsuck is doing right now!

Do your research bro,in 2007 apple introduce multi touch, and they show all types of smartphone brand of that time(palm, windows phone, and more),the phones that time only use stylus and NO multi touch,in fact that last time is a "press screen" instead of "touch screen",I would admit that without apple, there will be no multi touch for today smartphone, and take note, apple is the FIRST to have multi touch, give me the sources of what you said please, thanks

Btw, i'm concern about the battery life. Need a non laggy phone and i know Nexus 4 can deliver. But quad core, technically consume more battery kan? Some say it's bad, some say acceptable. what say you guys?
Stock and custom got much difference in terms of battery life? Thanks

Stock more power hungry than custom lo...With Franko Kernel ... can set the phone to be in 1 core or 2 most of the time and activates 4 cores when needed...Battery life depens on your usage lah... Like mine just flashed to latest PA not many apps only FB ,Wechat, whatsapp battery can last 2 days i suppose ... My SOT quite long ...

HAIH. My ear piece and headphone jack seems fried. Headphone only plays left side and is very noisy. Earpiece seems to have static whenever I talk.

Hopefully LG let's me RMA again..

Yup, for me custom ROM and Kernel gave better battery life compared to stock... As long as you not playing heavy games or other heavy resources apps. Surfing and some light games like Subway surfer and Contra still gave me a day usage with more than 4 hours SOT.

Currently on CM10.2 Nightlies and Hell Kernel

if you charge your phone on daily basis, even stock kernel and rom should be good enough.

quad core technically consume more, so starting with NVidia Tegra 3 (first quad core CPU for mobile), kernel already implement auto_hotplug which allow kernel to decide to use only more core when needed.

qualcomm's S4 pro implement it slightly differently using mpdecision - a userland process that something similar. however, since it's not open source, many custom developers decided to removed that and implement the hotplug.

so, even in stock kernel and ROM, it's not that bad.

all stock ROM are using OnDemand CPU governor. in term of power saving this CPU governor is second only to Powersave and sometimes Conservative. most custom ROM using Interactive which may make the phone more responsible, but cannot match the power saving of OnDemand. (On side note, Interactive CPU Governor may not be best for Nexus 4 or any Jellybean android since Project Butter is more effective than CPU governor. it will automatically boost CPU freq on touch.)

there are other settings such as larger data buffering, low memory killer settings, io scheduler, etc that custom ROM may implement to conserve power, but in my testing, they are soooo minor. so custom ROM offer little in power saving nowadays.

custom kernel offers more nowadays. with custom kernel, you can do under-volting. typically allow your CPU to run at same speed (or higher) at lower voltage. other than that, you also can implement lower lowest brightness etc.

although i m still using Stock ROM (with some customization), i m using a custom kernel for power saving and lower heat. ohh... ya, custom kernel allow me to calibrate Nexus 4 screen too, which LG and Google really do not do justice for the IPS screen.
