QUOTE(cruiseantz @ Jul 25 2013, 04:39 PM) Well said!! QUOTE(faish888 @ Jul 25 2013, 04:41 PM) TGI Thursday! Long weekend coming. More time for Lego hauling and bricking. Your photo backdrop not interesting... Some unexpected arrivals yesterday. Don't know how to classify size... nano, small, mid-size? Taikuns/experts here pls advice. These are not personal hauls but for taikuns here and in FB. So I call it THX (Tycoon Hauling Xervice). » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(rayz2003 @ Jul 25 2013, 07:51 PM) Nice collection! Really like your DIY display. QUOTE(Bigfoot-X @ Jul 25 2013, 09:15 PM) Nano haul. Are those from BrickArms? I'm going to Singapore for the weekend, am tempted to pick up some BrickArms gears if I chance upon any... Can share how much you paid for them? Collected this from POSLAJU this afternoon. ![]() » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(vey99 @ Jul 25 2013, 09:46 PM) ima seeing to upgrade the armor van, am still wondering to buy parts or terus buy this set and mod the back Bro, I don't mind taking the minifigs. Do let me know how much if you intend to proceed with it. trouble is , those on bricklink all have minifigs which i dont want (to pay for) ![]() QUOTE(hades4eve @ Jul 25 2013, 11:28 PM) I seems to forgetting to post something about my lil DIY to make my Winter Village Toy Shop look nicer. Hmmm.... I kept looking at the photos and was wondering what you were trying to show...? Remember I talk about Satin Cloth earlier? This is a small DIY that I made with stitches and sewing I dun like my Christmas Toy Shop landed on a black tarmac.. therefore i tried to "simulate" snowy area... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Reason why I dun make it smaller is because I hope to make a bit of uneven texture on the surface buy budging the side, maybe I left too much cloth at the side. So is slightly fail. So now, doesn't it looks like White Christmas now? Happy Early Christmas to everyone! Ho! Ho! Ho! QUOTE(Caryane @ Jul 25 2013, 11:38 PM) Mine does not consider as haul, just a super duper tiny little bit of MOC. I also paiseh to share, later let all the taikuns laugh haha... Cute MOC! Gd morning AFOLs!
QUOTE(MrMao @ Jul 26 2013, 03:51 AM) I'll let Sifu Vey approach you. QUOTE(hades4eve @ Jul 26 2013, 05:34 AM) Point taken. The problem will be finding the right cloth to cover background. Haha. This shows that I dun have any skill in photography at all Haha! Practice makes perfect bro! QUOTE(hades4eve @ Jul 26 2013, 05:36 AM) Initially I wanted to buy white baseplate to put.. But is there white baseplate available for Lego? I never encounter one before Yes, white baseplates are available but expensive... Someone here reported in the last version cost something like RM40-50 a piece before shipping and tax. IMHO it is better if you can create the landscape with mixed size plates rather than just a flat baseplate, it lends a great deal more character to the entire setting. QUOTE(Bigfoot-X @ Jul 26 2013, 07:17 AM) Good morning AFOLs, Gd morning and thanks for sharing! TGIF! These are not from Brickarms. I got them from this dude, he has the price listed as well. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2733727/+0entry59737476 1st time transaction - went pretty well. The brand is Sidan Toys from Taiwan. I'm impressed with the designs. Look like their real world counterparts. For example, you can tell the difference between th4 Glock19 and the Colt .45 pistols. I paid a total of about RM 126 for the lot with shipping. Figures not included. Think one of the vests costs the most, about RM 5 each I want to have my own SWAT team too with some serious fire power! |

QUOTE(ilfort @ Jul 26 2013, 08:29 AM) Gd morning boss! QUOTE(Bigfoot-X @ Jul 26 2013, 08:34 AM) No problem and sorry, can't really comment on the quality. Plastic seems solid enough and probably comparable to LEGO. No experience with Brickarms stuff. Thanks again for sharing! However, some moving parts may be really delicate and break easily. I suspect these might break off with age. An example would be the tiny bar on the helmet to attach the night vision goggles via a clip in the goggles. That bar is probably half or 1/4 mm thick! The clip on the goggles itself has a moving part which swivels so that you can pull down the goggles over the minifigs eyes. The fit for the pistol holster varies. I bought 2 different types of handguns - Glock (which has a slightly squarish barrel) and Colt. The holster is squarish too and fits the Glock snugly but the Colt sort of wobbles a little due to its design. But that said, the level of detail is incredible for such tiny items. That's what I like about them. The guns are really detailed with grooves etc making them look realistic. Example, I bought 2 different types of shotguns and there are even spare shotgun shells molded on the side of one of the designs! I'll set my budget at RM5 a piece and see if I can pick up any Brickarms parts at that price in Singapore... Lol! |

QUOTE(Mr. Alby @ Jul 26 2013, 09:05 AM) Lucky for my wallet those codes don't mean anything to me... QUOTE(Bigfoot-X @ Jul 26 2013, 09:10 AM) HT is milking the Iron Man franchise till its dry! Crazy to collect all the suits. Tony Stark may have unlimited $$$ cheat code but not collectors Oh no! So sorry to see that! Is it something unavoidable with HT or you got unlucky?I haven't even seen IM3 yet! But the new Mandarin Mansion assault Tony Stark looks like the best headsculpt of Robert Downey Jr I've seen so far. Too bad it's got blood and bruises on it. People already complaining "Another iron Man??? Another Tony Stark???". Some people said the suit is seen in movie for like 5 secs only and HT making the figure? Batman and Man Of Steel on the other hand. 1/12th scale Bat and Batman fig. Argh! Off topic but I think ccyeoh79 complained about Hot Toys damage. I just found my album. Stored it in box like this, thought can protect the figure. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The result is heartbreaking - dye from cape bled onto neck and parts of the suit! Superrman looks like he's bleeding. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Come to think of it, even if I didn't wrap the cape around the figure, long term contact could have ended up with same results. Thought of getting some fabric dye and coloring over it but don't know the end result. Alternatively, thought of removing the S shield and then the suit and dipping the whole suit into blue dye to get an even color. Else this has to be a "Doomsday/Kryptonite Stabbed Battle-Damaged Superman" Maybe it's time to get the Henry Cavill Superman Maybe I shouldn't ask too many questions... Nanti I get sucked into HT! QUOTE(vey99 @ Jul 26 2013, 10:18 AM) There is a cheap used set but the alien is missing antenna Yeah, that alien minifig cost a bit... Hope you don't ask me to pay a lot for all the minifigs! http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=robra...itemID=43374327 edit: ugh those antenna are RM6+ each on BL! ok let me calculate a bit first Dont buy baseplates, buy normal plates. like 8x16 (~RM6 each) The 16x16(~RM16) is not worth it nor is a white baseplate about RM50. You can always use a cheap blue one on the bottom. Yes the cost adds up to the same but you get versatality in having separate baseplates and white 8x16 plates which are very handy in many scenarios. I plan to buy lots of plates and bricks soon.... Anyone interested to tump any order? |

QUOTE(capm @ Jul 26 2013, 11:10 PM) Dunno yet... Have to really plan and think it through carefully, don't want to end up with a few hundred pieces of parts that I don't want... Lol! Anyway, here's a little report from Singapore: 10211 Gran Emporium ~$311 10218 Pet Shop ~$290 10232 Palace Cinema ~$250 10233 Horizon Express ~199 10937 Arkham Asylum ~$300 10228 Haunted House ~$295 60026 Town Square $129.90 (discounted from $179.90) If I'm not wrong there is a set of 10188 Death Star going for $699 or $599 at ToysHunt @ Novena Square. Supposedly promo and cash terms only, no further discount even for members. Saw another set of Death Star at Bricks World @ Ngee Ngan City asking for $899. From the looks of it 60026 is going at a great bargain here in Singapore. Toyshunt has Brickarms parts but prices starts from $5.90 a piece... Gd Night! |

QUOTE(kenny_pang @ Jul 31 2013, 03:06 PM) Coming from Uncle Kenny, I think this trend is worrying!! On the bright side, it means the sets are getting bigger and/or more detailed. Two sets? ordered locally, from Brickbastion (10% discount + redeemed points for further discount+ free shipping). Couriered by Skynet. All my previous orders from them are also in good condition. QUOTE(bloodghost @ Jul 31 2013, 03:11 PM) yeah, i bought pet shop from them also having great condition, that is my 1st modular set, but their price is all RRP minus 10% so a bit expensive.. QUOTE(echoesian @ Aug 1 2013, 11:49 PM) Hello everyone, I'm thinking to buy a Lego set as a birthday gift for my daughter who is going to be 2 years old next week. Any recommendation for a 2-3 years old kid? Definitely Lego Duplo! Perhaps you can be more specific like what you think or see that your daughter like? For my case, my girl took a liking to playing with figurines so I bought a few Duplo sets to build up the piece counts and then after that I just buy Duplo minifigures from BrickLink to feed her fascination with little Lego people. If your daughter like animals then perhaps the zoo that bro vey99 suggested is good or maybe a farm set. |

QUOTE(vey99 @ Aug 2 2013, 12:22 AM) Haha! Yeah I buy like 10-20 minifigs one shot and then slowly give it to her over a period of weeks... After a while she knows where I keep them and she helped herself! QUOTE(echoesian @ Aug 2 2013, 12:23 AM) Just curious, is this Duplo can be play together with the normal Lego sets? Yeah she likes to play with small figurines but she doesn't like to play trains Yeah, I tried and my girl don't like trains. Here is the link if you want to check it out: BrickLink BrickLink is the unofficial online trading place for Lego, you can find almost everything Lego related there. QUOTE(echoesian @ Aug 2 2013, 12:24 AM) I'm also thinking of this -> http://www.lazada.com.my/Lego-Friends-4100...igh-436387.html You can play with it together with your daughter, I did the same with my girl but I suggest you be around during play just in case she decides to chew on them or worse swallow the little pieces... I also don't recommend you let your daughter build the regular Lego pieces as they are quite sharp and hard around the edges, not very friendly to little fingers and nails. However it is for 6+ years old, not sure why daughter can play it now ? Another thing to note about buying Duplo sets online, because they are big pieces it also means the set boxes are quite big. What this means is more expensive shipping. I bought all my Duplo through Amazon France where I find shipping is more reasonable. Hope this helps. This post has been edited by Lego_Jason: Aug 2 2013, 12:48 AM |
