Yes, why Mathematics indeed! Do numbers excite you? Do Mathematical theorems pique your interest? Most importantly, how much do you know about university Mathematics and are you passionate about it?

Say you stumbled on a theorem, will you do background reading on it and try to prove it on your own or, would you wait for someone else to explain it to you? In fact, do you like Mathematics because you seem to grasp the subject very quickly in secondary school and aced all the exams?

Personal experience dictates that one shouldn't do Maths unless they possess a high aptitude for it.

If this is the case then university Mathematics may not be suitable for you. Do not be discouraged by my words though. See if this book interests you:

A very Short Introduction to Mathematics by Tim Gowers.

Read it then decide of you want to do Mathematics at university. Good luck! laugh.gif
