2. Suzuki RG 110 sport ( 2nd hand, over haul engine every 1 year, keep jam) September 2005 - December 2008
3. Yamaha SS ( makan 2t like mad. over haul edi engine also still jam)December 2008 - October 2009
4. Modenas Elegan 200 (new bike, after 9 months, engine jam, Mileage over warranty period, paid RM1k to overhaul. <<i'm a naughty boy who just used a naughty word>>) Nov 2010 - March -2012

for 2 stroke  i never use cheap 2t oil.,i always use expensive one..and I never use non-japan parts unless there is no choice...however for engine parts like piston ring i strictly use made in Japan brand like for piston ring  i use Teikoku brand, bearings:japan NTN,chain:DID brand..

with ex5, u can always use local parts and never be a problem

expensive dan genuine parts are better for long run and aggressive riding

for kapchai there will be not much problem using 'part biasa',but because of the quality of expensive parts 'barang baik' you will spend less for maintenance and chance of breakdown is less

mate, try do not change a single engine oil in 1 year for your bike.. my EX5 Dream (if EX5 from Japan, 10 years without changing engine oil is a common thing) does that & it did not die for me.. in 10 years, I think I just change the engine oil about 8 times.. that's all..

and EX5 is bloody hard to kill (unless you purposely burn or had an accident with lorry la..)

try on you bike and let us know your feedback.. cheers icon_idea.gif

Cannot ride an EX5 because not used to clutchless bike. It has a nice quiet engine and good fuel economy.
Cons.
The biggest turn off is front drum brakes. doh.gif
Cannot wade though flood water as deep as some other bikes since the head is horizontal.

Learned to ride on an RXS and I had to take the exam twice. blush.gif
Currently using Suzuki RG110 with clutch.
Mine is sweet 16 and still going strong. Pro is the bulletproof engine. The engine including the cylinder head has never been opened. Just need to maintain petrol and high quality 2T oil. (Castrol 2T Race) and ride. 4T change once a year. Good for short distance commuting. The only con is the fuel consumption.
Still have my '82 RXS115 and '95 TZM150 if I want to ride long distances. brows.gif

When it comes to reliability, 2T FTW. No timing chains, no valvetrains, just a simple proven engine design using ports and expansion chamber that literary runs forever if maintained carefully.
Although not a big fan of Honda, they were kind enough to invite me to their plant in Penang celebrating the 2,000,000th bike out of Kah Motor Assembly Plant in '98 or '99. I'll take a pic of the jacket and post it up later. biggrin.gif

I had a memorable time visiting their plant with their courteous staffs and personnel.

Really? The spark plug cable did not get wet? Amazing.. Where's the location of the spark plug?

As long as the spark plug cable in good condition without cracks it surely will be good...

Normally died in the water was more due to engine stalled (wrong technic or front vehicle stopped hence engine died)

Or simply because the spark plug/coil was shorted due to crack over long period (more than 10years old bike)

ex5 is underpowered.

in term of versatility i think Yamaha lagenda 110z is more legendary.

Sapa suruh sukat pakai jari bai...tangki wave flat lebar...tangki ex5 kecik tinggi (dalam)...memang la tak sama....

Tp meter minyak honda kira tepat la jugak....wave kalau jarum dh bawah takuk merah pun ada minyak lg...betul2 kosong bila dah jejak huruf E

tu persamaan je bai. meter minyak aku rosak so aku manual pakai jari la. tapi mmg terasa perbezaan minyak EX5 dengan Wave.

mekanik kedai yang aku beli cakap tu "normal" pasal wave Cc lagi tinggi. hmm.gif
