QUOTE(mambangafro @ Jul 25 2013, 01:10 AM) expensive dan genuine parts are better for long run and aggressive riding mate, try do not change a single engine oil in 1 year for your bike.. my EX5 Dream (if EX5 from Japan, 10 years without changing engine oil is a common thing) does that & it did not die for me.. in 10 years, I think I just change the engine oil about 8 times.. that's all.. for kapchai there will be not much problem using 'part biasa',but because of the quality of expensive parts 'barang baik' you will spend less for maintenance and chance of breakdown is less and EX5 is bloody hard to kill (unless you purposely burn or had an accident with lorry la..) try on you bike and let us know your feedback.. cheers |

Cannot ride an EX5 because not used to clutchless bike. It has a nice quiet engine and good fuel economy.
Cons. The biggest turn off is front drum brakes. Cannot wade though flood water as deep as some other bikes since the head is horizontal. Learned to ride on an RXS and I had to take the exam twice. Currently using Suzuki RG110 with clutch. Mine is sweet 16 and still going strong. Pro is the bulletproof engine. The engine including the cylinder head has never been opened. Just need to maintain petrol and high quality 2T oil. (Castrol 2T Race) and ride. 4T change once a year. Good for short distance commuting. The only con is the fuel consumption. Still have my '82 RXS115 and '95 TZM150 if I want to ride long distances. When it comes to reliability, 2T FTW. No timing chains, no valvetrains, just a simple proven engine design using ports and expansion chamber that literary runs forever if maintained carefully. Although not a big fan of Honda, they were kind enough to invite me to their plant in Penang celebrating the 2,000,000th bike out of Kah Motor Assembly Plant in '98 or '99. I'll take a pic of the jacket and post it up later. _______________________________________________________________________ Pic of the logo of the windbreaker that was given on the event commemorating Kah Motor 2,000,000th motorcycle. ![]() I had a memorable time visiting their plant with their courteous staffs and personnel. Anyone here attended that event? This post has been edited by Catnip: Jul 25 2013, 10:48 PM |

QUOTE(Catnip @ Jul 25 2013, 08:56 PM) actually i owned 2 honda wave125...and both of them already wading through flash flood as high as the engine already submerged inside water (only airbox above water)...just keep the rev high and keep moving.... post flood check sees no problem or water seepage whatsoever QUOTE(croydon @ Jul 25 2013, 09:31 PM) maybe best bike for fc, but got future 125 owner complaint ex5 faster than their bike i dunnow if future125 owner trolling or what...but i've tested future125 speed can even matching 135LC on some occation...but with that speed for sure FC drop down the cliff honda aim for fc nowadays, most of their bike can go around 100-120kmh only |

The spark plug cable did not get wet? Amazing.. Where's the location of the spark plug?Anyway, I was referring to the EX5. Always seeing them pushing the bike after going through deep puddles or flash floods.... |

QUOTE(Catnip @ Jul 27 2013, 12:05 AM) Really? The spark plug cable did not get wet? Amazing.. Where's the location of the spark plug? As long as the spark plug cable in good condition without cracks it surely will be good...Anyway, I was referring to the EX5. Always seeing them pushing the bike after going through deep puddles or flash floods.... Normally died in the water was more due to engine stalled (wrong technic or front vehicle stopped hence engine died) Or simply because the spark plug/coil was shorted due to crack over long period (more than 10years old bike) This post has been edited by ^pomen_GTR^: Jul 27 2013, 02:03 AM |
