Hi guys,
(1) when I am using the 'no flash' setting, is aperture, speed, ISO setting automatic?
(2) is there a way to disable the flash when I am at 'Auto' setting?
Am using D5100.
Thanks

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 9 2013, 09:35 PM) Try using "P" mode, that should do the trick QUOTE(Maniac @ Aug 9 2013, 09:51 PM) using no flash mode essentially telling the camera to AUTO without flash, in general, camera will lower down speed & open up aperture to a certain extend before raising ISO. Thanks for the replies. Let's see if I get this right. If I use 'P' mode, it allows the camera to automatically set the camera, but at the same time gives me the option to still do some basic setting (if i want to)?

^ Thank you. That is pretty much a clear and simple to understand explanation.
The last sentence could be the reason why my pictures are not bright, no flash mode but taken at outdoor (sunny). However, the +/- Exposure Indicator is 0.0
Another thing that I don't understand is, under M mode, the Exposure Indicator bar (viewfinder) is at the extreme side of -ve. Is this the reason why my pictures are not bright, even under 'no flash' mode mentioned above? I thought the settings under M mode is independent and will not affect other setting (no flash, P mode, etc)?
Thank you

Hi guys! (1) When the camera is in OFF mode, is it possible to rotate the lens manually (zoom function)? I recall that previously it is not possible, but few days back, it can. Is something broken? (2) Is it possible to adjust the brightness of the LCD screen as I found mine to be dark. If it is possible, how do I adjust it to the correct setting? Model D5100 Thanks edited: it's D5100 not D3100 This post has been edited by Human Nature: Sep 13 2013, 09:22 PM
