Hi guys,

(1) when I am using the 'no flash' setting, is aperture, speed, ISO setting automatic?

(2) is there a way to disable the flash when I am at 'Auto' setting?

Am using D5100.

Thanks

Try using "P" mode, that should do the trick  brows.gif

using no flash mode essentially telling the camera to AUTO without flash, in general, camera will lower down speed & open up aperture to a certain extend before raising ISO.

Thanks for the replies. Let's see if I get this right. If I use 'P' mode, it allows the camera to automatically set the camera, but at the same time gives me the option to still do some basic setting (if i want to)?

^ Thank you. That is pretty much a clear and simple to understand explanation.

The last sentence could be the reason why my pictures are not bright, no flash mode but taken at outdoor (sunny). However, the +/- Exposure Indicator is 0.0

Another thing that I don't understand is, under M mode, the Exposure Indicator bar (viewfinder) is at the extreme side of -ve. Is this the reason why my pictures are not bright, even under 'no flash' mode mentioned above? I thought the settings under M mode is independent and will not affect other setting (no flash, P mode, etc)?

Thank you

Hi guys!

(1) When the camera is in OFF mode, is it possible to rotate the lens manually (zoom function)? I recall that previously it is not possible, but few days back, it can. Is something broken?

(2) Is it possible to adjust the brightness of the LCD screen as I found mine to be dark. If it is possible, how do I adjust it to the correct setting?

Model D5100 smile.gif Thanks
