I think you're not financially strapped, just keep the DSLR gear la. Once a while go out and have fun with it.

Back then it's either compact, prosumers or SLR. Very limited. IQ is only on SLR.

I use FF because of wide angle... besides that, anything my FF can do, my DX can do as well

Was backing up my files in my HDD today and found two photos taken quite some time ago during a Nikon exhibition (I think at Midvalley)

perk of getting a nikon, you feel more pro as compared to canon users.. according to my friend who playing dslr more than 5 years. FEEL only... don't get me wrong.. haha

D5100 is a good body, I shld have gotten it too because the screen is so useful sometimes(Im too short to get high angle shot). O well~ 

take it steady and slow, like the abv sifu said, try different settings for one shot, grab the skills to know the light conditions, background, etc..

most important is, use your gear and shoot!
