glozz, i've had the opportunity to play with tenno once at Astrodome. He's a pretty darn good keeper. Very experienced player.

tenno, when ya joining us again? We normally play every Saturday evening at Sports Planet Sunway.

I can attest to glozz's defending skills. The way i see it, if he can't get the ball, he'll break your leg. Thats how he defend.

Was that the incident whereby miketee sent a crunching tackle to your knees and you fell down and couldn't continue? We were genuine worried when you fell down and clutched your knees. When Robo goes down, you know its THE injury.

Anyhow, I definitely need a new pair of shoes for my futsal session, any recommendation? Also, where do you think I would be able to get a nice deal on Nike's Rolinho Clube ball?

Walk in to any Nike stores or even Al Ikhsan shops in KL, you may find this futsal ball.

I can't recall which is which but there's 2 type of Nike futsal ball. One of them is stitched, another is glued. I used to own one of those glued ones but its not exactly the most durable ball. Then i donated this ball to the Glozz Futsal Goalkeeping Foundation, called GFGF. Went on to buy one of those stitched ones for RM79. So far so good.

If i remember correctly, the glued ones are RM59 while the stitched ones are RM79.

Har? Does that make any difference at all? I think the material used for the ball is the same, just that one is glued, once is stitched. But i might be wrong. Maybe the glued ones are synthetic, the stitched ones are probably some kind of leather. This is just an assumption.

But either way, i dont see why it wears your gloves off faster.

BTW, is the ball still working well, the one i exchanged with you? Right before i gave it to you, few glued patches were coming off and when you kick the ball, the ball takes an unusual flight and there's a funny swirl in the air.

Glozz,
You tried Royal Sporting House in Sunway Pyramid? Or even Midvalley Megamall. You might be able to find one there. Rugby balls are not the most popular equipment around, you probably can find them in those big sports store.

Where do you live or play your regular futsal?

Some of our guys are from some different part of Klang Valley and you guys can car pool if there is one that stays nearby you.

Of coz if you're from Seremban or Nilai or Kuala Selangor, then transport will be a major issue la.

Haha, You should tell that to your friends, not here.

But anyways, when i'm running real close to the GK or have a 1 v 1 chance with the GK, generally i avoid smacking the ball hard. I mean its a little bit of common sense and courtesy not to do that la. But if in tournament or whatever competetive match, when you have to score, you will have to smack it lor.

Having said that, in one of those weekly futsal matches, don't have to give it all. If you have to risk injuring yourself or let in a goal, i rather let in a goal.

Different people will have different ideas on what they should wear to protect themselves but the bottom line i would like to emphasize and advise all futsal players, be it casual weekend player or competetive players, please wear your shinguards. Some people might have played futsal for the last 5-8 years and haven't took a whack on the shins, so they normally brush them off saying its heavy and uncomfortable.

For me, having played futsal for the last 6 years, i took 2 nasty whack on the shins that resulted in heavy bruising. From then on, i've always worn the shinguards and it has saved me numerous times from potential bruises or even cracked shins. So please, buy a cheap shinguards and wear them all the time.
