I thought its on mtk6589 same like my A830 which on 3G data speed rch more than that, i think..
Looking at speedtest my umobile rch 7.59Mbps possibly higher if at better signal area. How? Agreed that lte is next but its still limited area coverage. Some may argued about Lenovo reliability but I personally thinks it more robust and better built compared to most makers. I was from higher end phone bought this a830 for temp use after sold my HO but later stuck to enjoy its long battery. I really not miss features offered of my former S4 nor HO. Those are premium but still slave to carry power bank. Ha.ha.. Btw, what's the expected retail price for A780? |

I would have grabbed this p780 on impulse but price is still soo 'keras'. I guess wait a little while won't hurt since I'm still gud on my A830 which offers great endurance nevertheless.
S920 more metro looks but short of breath. P780 more like kampong girl, can up down but still can perform.. Premium like S4 or HO like high class girl.. u become slave in order to enjoy features... Just my 2ยข. |

QUOTE(sterlita123 @ Aug 16 2013, 06:45 PM) aiyak. so dangerous. naseb baik tak angkat lagi. same case happened with a830 lenovo. is this really true ? kalau tak bole akses play store, then why u buy android phone ? aiyakk You are smart but lack info.. Pls dun compare local set with china set. Direct import dun have playstore (why u may ask.. go google, u smart kan?). However if root and flash rom all playstore glory are avail. Btw.. im using A830 china set with playstore insde. Local set playstore included. |

QUOTE(acbc @ Aug 16 2013, 06:49 PM) No. Misleading info. Claimed to be dual or quad core but performance worse than the slowest dual core in the market. Where u got this info?Based from experience? I'm on MTK and was from S4 & HO. To be frank, I don't miss a thing other than better screen and camera. What I now enjoy most is loooonggg hrs of SOT. P780 have similar chipset to what I using now A830 and therefore should not have much issue running most worthwhile apps. Again, Lenovo most likely have optimized its launcher and things alike. I would love to get my hands on this P780 soon tho my A830 is still making me happy everyday for its 4000mAh awesome power. This post has been edited by MatShadow: Aug 16 2013, 07:11 PM |

Hey Mike, I so envy u ady got ur P780. Wah u now got 2 lenovos = 4 phones. For Lenovo basher to be.. pls chk ur fab phone thread first b4 displaying ur 'awesomeness' here. Fact.. this phone price compared to urs. Fact.. how real life user satisfaction for ur fan phone then compare here. If ur never use any Lenovo phone than u better keep ur comment to urself. I'm one very satisfied Lenovo hp user. No, I don't get paid to say this. Just my personal experience. Oh.. btw, Samseng fanboys go play ur phone somewhere secluded coz its gonna hang soon and don't forget bring along power bank. This post has been edited by MatShadow: Aug 16 2013, 08:27 PM |

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Aug 16 2013, 08:36 PM) haha... Mat... no la... i'll pass the S920 to some one else... Wow! like that u may need a backpack to carry all phones.i already chasing the guy since i got the S920... i told him once the P780 arrive PM me the price and reserve 1 for me if not more than RM900... i'm having 1 iPhone4 and 1 SE Xperia Ray to use also... my gf have Sony Xperia SP... i would say SP also a good buy, battery can last... UI also very smooth did not notice slow down since 2 months ago... with her daily usage, the SP can last from 7am till 6pm easily... if heavy gaming then she might need powerbank to standby after 6pm... For me 1 is OK, 2 gonna be a hassle and more is a burden. Most of my old phones taken by family members except few I managed to quietly sell like my S4 & HO. This A830 on 2sims is my daily driver for awhile now. Love it! Now salivating P780. The thought of backing up data, restoring, while I also afraid miss backup are holding me back for now. Enjoy ur new toy.. not toy as of child toy can baling2 w/o crying. |

QUOTE(fireballs @ Aug 16 2013, 10:07 PM) most of the time just 1 core is needed. the rest of the core just sit there waiting for thing to happen. most likely core 3 just fire 1% of the cpu time and core 4 almost never fire. I really2 don't understand what u implying.thats y an advanced chipset with dual core can be faster than a old generation quadcore. (remember intel vs amd's big bike vs tricycle?) in benchmarks, all cores are used to achieve higher score. Are ur saying better all cores burst into action all d time? Pls enlighten me.. OK got what ur meant.. old vs new. Thanks. This post has been edited by MatShadow: Aug 16 2013, 10:21 PM |

QUOTE(fireballs @ Aug 16 2013, 10:34 PM) i mean, during normal use of phone - call, browse internet, facebook, scroll screen etc, 2 core is more than enough. Got it! Was misunderstood. Sorry and thanks for clarifying. very few application make full use of 4 cores. try to view by https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?....microcpu&hl=en |

Oh btw, my RM700 got 2sims active while the RM1800 must use 2phones = RM3600 Add : Cheap phone but very smooth as daily driver. My phone condition bit cacat since ady faceplant 2x on road. This post has been edited by MatShadow: Aug 17 2013, 09:33 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Aug 18 2013, 10:12 PM) Ok after 2 days of weekend usage, or in more precise about 38 hrs my phone battery has drop to 6 percent... Just a suggestion...Have to go thru few working days to get an answer how well it last my usage... S3 and R3 I used to use 2 battery per day... GSam from playstore is an app I usually used sice it provides more accurate estimation based on average battery performance. Maybe u can try that. |

QUOTE(Micehael9413 @ Aug 20 2013, 06:18 PM) Well to be Frank all android will be... u need to know when u need to clear off the cache.... that's all... Very nice batt performance..When the cache builded up already the system will be less responsive... But fyi do not expect wonders from P780, cos the chipset of not that superior... it is a older generation of quad core tech... I bought this becos of the battery which is very marvelous for me at least... 9 hrs plus... and now... refer to the stats below... Just for comparison I include my latest GSam reading of my A830. I duno but it seems this A830 with smaller batt perform almost similar feat. What ur guys think? Heavy used= approx 8hrsSOT / 15hrs Normal used = approx 7hrsSOT / 30hrs My A830 rooted 4.2.2 jack44. Just sharing info..
A simple but gud review especially regarding battery performance. Click here > http://gbvalley.blogspot.com/2013/07/lenov...ife-review.html "We used the phone for making calls, sending text messages, chat on QQ, browse Weibo, watching videos on commute etc. and are able to charge the phone every 3 days without any issues" |
