Finally got my P780 from One Gadget last nite.
Was using S830 (rooted).
Not yet done exploring this phone yet but l really like its design wise and truly love its monster batt.
However, I did sense a tiny lag on certain task when compared to my A830. Maybe need root and flash gud rom to achieve that.. hmm..
Any suggestion on what ROM ady tested and running smooth?

Oh.. Camera is much better than S830 for sure.

2nd time charging since bought the phone. Batt endurance is great (definately the best). Maybe could get better result after few more charging cycles.

Bro kemek, urs is rooted, repart, and on custom rom right?
What custom rom u installed?
Does this restarting issue happened during stock rom as well?
Restarting problem could be caused by many possibilities. Eg. Over2 clocking resulting heat, memory conflict, ROM no gud, etc.
Have u managed flashing back to stock ROM?
Last time my bud screwed flashing and bricked his phone but later told me he still managed to claim warranty after using Neodenium magnet frying certain chip with it. I can't verify the truth of his claims. So don't try this method. Just sharing story...

Oh.. mine no restart issue and running great. Wish u can claim warranty.

My daughter install, uninstall, play games and sometimes suka2 change my p780 setting every night but what I observed tho the cleaner icon turns sparkling red, it stays at 92%. Sometimes game shutters a bit but after awhile back normal. No clean cache was done during that. Games played not so demanding. Only kiddy games and edutainment tho..
I think I am lucky or maybe this phone is really worth every penny. What say u guys..?

If I'm not mistaken I read somewhere here that to reset we need press button at back.. Where? I no see la.. Or there is another way doing reset? Also, Reset get unroot?

I rooted mine using method shared by zerohunter. Only diff I instead install USB drivers ady in internal drv rather than PDnet. For recovery TRWP same as Kemek which was installed via Mobileuncle.. Still not yet repart drv and still on stock ROM. Done nandroid backup.
Using Titanium backup free version to backup & restore data+apps. So far so gud. Able uninstall and restore non system apps w/o issue. Really2 hope I will not face problem once hard reset is needed.

Anyone here managed to get unrooted using the reset button after repart storage?
If proven still can unroot despites repart storage size.. Pls let me know....

I'm on twrp but when pwr + vol up, it went to display same screen like that. Maybe..but nor sure coz can't read what's written, issit the boorloader?
Someone translate pls...

To twrp ecovery I use Mobileuncle.

One gadget @ PGRM. I got it from there also. Suggest go night coz many avail free parking nearby. OGDC offers among cheapest and ample stock most of d time.

Reporting.... I'm using Jabra Extreme2 without issue.

Try Setting > All Apps > Flashlight > clear cache / force stop.

U mean even after Setting > Common Setting > Bluetooth > menu > rename device?
I am able to change device name w/o problem.

I just like to share my experience getting into uncalled stress moments ago... Luckily restored via nandroid backup.
First of all my p780 rooted, on stock rom with TWRP recovery. I guess I'm lucky having phone w/o issue for all this while until moments ago when I tried to restore fonts in 'ROM Toolbox'. My phone went to bootloops after reboot. Done wipe but still bootloops so I finally did system restored which I luckily done 4 days back.

Red button at d back did cut off power and so able to restart phone. It won't reset this phone as claimed by someone here sometime ago.

Just sharing so others know that ROM Toolbox could cause bootloop if u r not careful. And if it does, very likely u need to do nandroid restore.

Btw, If I'm not mistaken someone here did say that CWM for P780 can't do nandroid backup. So I guess TWRP is a better choice.

Guys, one thing I like to ask is regarding this phone stock ROM. If not mistaken its S115_130807 rite? But its nowhere to be found on net to download if need to flash back to ori stock when need arise like to send back for wsrranty etc.

xMika guide was to flash S116 which not our ori stock. Sure Svs Ctr will know the phone ady rooted and flashed to non std ROM. So how? Any work around?

This Q is bugging me for long time but nobody here able to provide definite answer. All was told to flash S116 stock etc. which is easily noticeable.

Oh.. btw if its via android backup I ady knew that. What I really need is to get back to ori recovery. Currently on TWRP.

Rooting won't change ur launcher GUI - if that what concerns u. If only gives u access to root so u may do things otherwise not possible w/o it.

One click root as 'zerohunter' guide earlier was what I used and it really easy and most important it works! U will get rooted in no time and install ur TB to restore our apps / data.

My main goal to root is get TB other than few nicks rooting features.

Just an advice.. Once root flash TWRP recovery and do nandroid backup and u r practically safe to move fwd.


Mike, i know CWM got issues but TWRP recovery works perfectly. Im on twrp and able to nandroid and even partition w/o sweat. It even came with SuperSU - with One Click UnRoot! option. This not tested but my finger itching wanting to press it.. duno why?

Now I believe gave enuf reason 4 u to proceed rooting ur phone. W/o root access, ur phone considered not fully utilized lar.. Let me know if u need more convincing.. Ha.ha.

FYI, just like my prev A830, my daughter also use this phone to play games etc. So she needed her games data backup and restored. Now she really have a hard time draining juice from this phone as compared A830.. Ha.ha..
