Astro Guide for Iphone Apps can not be accesed anymore for remote recording purpose? anyone can confirm this?

Confirmed. It has stopped working for quite some time already, and has been yanked off both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

I confirm TV3, ntv7, 8TV, and TV9 are now available on Byond IPTV (at least the Time version, not sure about the Maxis version)

TV3 had always been there, while the other three channels were added around two months ago.

I think the hard disk in my Byond PVR just died yesterday.

There was a grinding sound in my Astro, and my recordings under My TV are missing and attempts to book new recordings returned the error message 'Booking Failed'.

Watching live content is fine though, just lost PVR capabilities.

I hard reset and even attempted to format the hard disk, but no improvements at all.

Will I get a free replacement hardware, or do I need to fork out $$? The PVR is only 14 months old sad.gif

Is it a requirement to have a new contract? I am only 14 months into my 2-year contract sad.gif

I certainly wouldn't want to renew my contract just cos of this.

Also, the new PVR you received is the old Pace version or the new Samsung version?

The Time DotCom contractors came this morning and simply replaced the PVR for me, didn't even bother testing the existing unit smile.gif

Unfortunately it is a refurbished unit so its still on firmware v5.0, need to wait for it to get upgraded to 8.0 again sad.gif

Yep, u said the old unit. not the new unit right?!
(did that to mine and it works!)
*
Didn't have to do anything. When I got home last night, the PVR was already upgraded to v8.0 smile.gif

And the new unit appears to be better than my previous unit, no more lag when using the Search feature or when browsing the TV guide.

Not bad la, I was only without PVR functionality for 2 days. Time really responded to this issue real quick!

Is anyone using Wireless HDMI adapter for Astro?

I have few TVs in my house and i want all to view Astro HD channels.
Which brand is good and roughly how much it cost?

Thanks!
*
I am using the Asus WiCast. No problems sending the 1080i HD content, even with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio.

Does it support multiple TVs?
*
I don't know... although I believe if it does you'd still need to buy multiple receivers (the box only includes 1 transmitter and 1 receiver). I can't find any information online on whether or not 1 transmitter can transmit to multiple receivers sad.gif

Also, Asus has stopped manufacturing the WiCast and has upgraded it with a new product called WAVI http://www.asus.com/Multimedia/WAVI/

Not sure how much the WAVI costs or if it would meet your requirements, but the WiCast cost me RM900 last year.

As an alternative, you may wish to check this out... http://the-generalist.com/component/conten...on-a-stick.html

I think this may be what you're looking for.

Ok thanks pal, just one question hw abt sound is it PCM is best? hmm.gif
*
PCM = uncompressed audio. However, all analog signals (including over the air broadcast TV) would have its audio detected as PCM.

Unless you're watching Blu-ray (which has multichannel Liner PCM), PCM basically means stereo sound la.

The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio in Astro HD channels would sound better than what is being detected as 'PCM' from the SD channels.

i call the shop, and they ask about my location..bla2..
then wait another 2 hours...call again...problem still the same..
and till midnight still dont get anything..on that time decoder show "CH 101" only, cannot change to other channel
..
suddenly my house black out
and the decoder become like this
user posted image
..
call technician, he cannot come today ..

so what the problem actually?  icon_question.gif
*
Most likely either the smartcard or decoder not activated properly, or the smartcard serial number does not match the decoder serial number when the technician installed it for you. Should have insisted that the technician stay for that 30 minutes until got picture.

When I got my Astro PVR replaced a few weeks ago, the technicians volunteered to stay until I was able to get a picture and change the channels, which took around 15 minutes.

Is the new interface available only to Samsung device owners, or those with the older Pace devices also receive it?

Fox Family Movies will start 1 November, and will be free for all Family Pack subscribers from 1 November - 28 February. SD version is Channel 414, HD version is Channel 432.

What's Skynindo btw?

Hi. I've installed iptv and everything seems fine. However last week, I unplug the wire from the maxis modem to do some repositioning in my house. After that, as I plug the wire in again, I can't connect to the Internet or watch Astro anymore!

Can any sifu help to solve this?? All I did was unplug the wires and plug it back to it's original position.
*
Most likely the fiber optic connector got damaged when you disconnected it. It is much more fragile than the typical ethernet cable. You'll have to call Maxis to come to your place to test the cable.

This had happened to me before too, and the Time contractor came to my place within 24 hours and fixed it for free. Not sure if Maxis will charge you or not.

Got the new UI on my Pace Byond PVR smile.gif

Navigating through the menus and the TV guide is much more responsive now, along with giving the entire thing a more modern look.

Definitely a step in the right direction!

That's because the final mile (i.e. the connection to the end user) is infrastructure provided by TM. It's not like Maxis has any other provider to go to.

Meanwhile, I'm a happy Time Astro IPTV customer. My 6mbps line is very consistent, rarely have any problems streaming 720p clips from YouTube or Vimeo. Never have technical issues with Astro itself either.
