I think some of you guys haf already known about me trying to convert my current website from ASP to PHP... Thus, I'm also planning to change my current web design into sumthing else, but it turns out dat most of my frens suggested to retain the design, n juz convert the asp to php. Since I'm at it now,I tot of having some constructive thoughts from you guys here.

I've been using this design since d last 2 years now. If u ask what shape is dat, I myt say dat it was inspired a jukebox and futuristic feel.. dat was as far as my imagination n skill can go tho... sum ppl myt juz thing of sumthing betta.. nvm~

but yeah, if there is any space of improvement, I wud realy lyk to hear em out.... coz I'm serious in designing my website so dat I dun get bored wif it in the near future...

Thus, should I change everything, or juz polish some of the areas in this design..?? juz shoot em out.. I'm mentally prepared to digest everything discussed here.. wheeee~...

Thanks guys..

urm, the design is outdated..? no one really designs their website like that now. websites are catered more to the usability and accessibility standards of today.

your font in the menu is difficult to read. either rid yourself of the shine or make them bigger.

you might want to consider sizing the font size up a lil.

i guess that's all there is to say about it.

hehe... streamyx down for 3 days, didn't see your post... tongue.gif

yup, the fashion nowadays are more to simplicity...
ermmm...... I should tell you that the timeline of web design
fashion something is like this:
02/03 > future machinery look (like yours)
03/04 > xp style
04/05 > aqua/gel style
05/06 > simple/tidy/clean design

well, of course you can remain this design,
some websites are still using this style,
however you should polish it a bit...

if you want to polish it, here's my suggestions:

1. background colour
for this kind of design, the background is usually dark in colour...
plain milky yellow background is seriously outdated,
and doesn't fit to your design at all...

2. details
the shadows make everything seems like floating,
especially the 3 cords connecting those 2 panels...
and then the absense of details like dusts, textures etc
make the panels look 'fake'...

3. width of texts
as jayhan said, the width of the texts is too long...
this makes texts unreadable...

that's all for this time,
don't give up, keep on your good works... laugh.gif

Actually, I dun realy mind to change or not, the only difference will be, when will the website be completed.. ahahhaa.

dark background, say, pure black? dat won't make the shadow to be seen ryt? unsure.gif

dust n textures eh.. I'll look into the tutorials then.. thumbup.gif

btw, I'm still trying to decide if I shld be designing a website dat follows the trend or not.. itz even harder to establish our own design, ryt? sweat.gif thx 4 sharing u guys' tots tho.. notworthy.gif
