How is U-Mobile Data service? This is my experience.
Remember I complained that several parts of the city I can't surf at all? Now after further testing I found that it's not the location that is weak. They are mostly all good but things grind to a halt during congested hours.
Go to a mall on the weekends and you will see that not only data service is not working, sometimes you can't even make a call or receive one. Go back to the same location on a quieter day and you will find no problem.
I remember when I joined U prepaid couple years ago, this problem didn't surface. Only recently (maybe after UMobile start roaming with Maxis instead of Celcom) that this thing happened.

QUOTE(wcypierre @ Dec 11 2013, 01:51 PM) hmm....... probable. My experience seem to be more or less like that as well. But are you using 3g or 2g? As Maxis would be out of the equation if you're using 3g but it will if you're using 2g. My experience is that it occurs when I'm using 3g but it may differ from yours. 3G Signal always shows very good - full bar but cant surf you mean if 3g, it is not sharing roaming on Maxis network? QUOTE(wcypierre @ Dec 11 2013, 02:45 PM) What I had is full bar but cannot receive sms nope. U Mobile is using their own infrastructure for their 3g services. so how to complain? I doubt anything can be done seinz with all malaysian telcos, all also penipu scammer This post has been edited by idoblu: Dec 11 2013, 02:47 PM

QUOTE(orangutan @ Dec 24 2013, 10:23 AM) I just renew my UMI 38 yesterday (auto-renew). They gave me bonus data of 250 MB but funny thing is that the bonus will expire by 31 December 2013. Only 7 days to use the bonus 250MB!!!??? Am I missing something here? Yup that's correct. The free part is valid for 7 days only so use it up before then http://savemoney.my/u-mobile-with-umi-28-3...-december-2013/

QUOTE(wcypierre @ Jan 8 2014, 11:15 AM) no, prepaid users that are not using UMI plans and are using this plan as a backup plan(need LONG validity) should not upgrade p/s: my england too confusing ke apa ni, everyone pun xfaham  Does that mean that once you started or subscribe to any of the UMI plans, the validity is 2x instead of 3x? Anyway I think all prepaid plans are 2x already whether you take UMI or not - https://www.u.com.my/prepaid_planThis post has been edited by idoblu: Jan 9 2014, 10:11 PM

QUOTE(CnY Garage @ Jan 9 2014, 10:07 PM) Every 1 no need to guess Ok, first is the rate plan, Old plan got free call free sms 18 cents per min New plan got free calls free data 20 cents per min Then VALIDITY BONUS = 2 times top up amount , means old plan new plan top up RM 10 also got 20 days only Then Umi plan, only NEW PLAN APPLY, NO MORE OLD PLAN That's how I read it too, no choice, it will be 2x validity for all

For the so-called "unlimited" high speed internet usage up to 2gb, any idea what is the throttled speed after that? Can't find on the website.
This is under U50.

So Ive been enjoying using UMI28 for couple of years now. My data usage so far is around 1gb per month but I usually finished my quota before the month is up.
Anway I feel like porting back to Maxis (which I hate) but I figure I need 2gb nowadays and I like to have LTE and International roaming which U doesn't give me. I hardly make calls. I thought Surfmore50 would be best but not sure how postpaid works if I have to pay any monthly charges. Or just subscribe back to Hotlink 2gb for Rm55
Anybody ported from Maxis and now feels like porting back?

QUOTE(dgboy @ Nov 14 2014, 07:24 PM) You may like to consider MB40 (2GB for RM40) if data is more important than calls and sms. And International Roaming is currently being phased in for UM prepaid. Oh what is this MB40? Is it something new? This is purely for data with no free voice&isms right? I'm using UMI now When will they l implement international roaming? Looks like U mobile have some hope

QUOTE(CnY Garage @ Dec 30 2014, 12:05 PM) if you are using prepaid probably can't activate 4g by sms for now, their system got technical issue, better approach to their center if you are using postpaid , instant active once sms sent When I return home to Puchong, I get the LTE sign but speed is like 2mbps only
