Here of 3 cars an never to get comparison of performance, what you pay as higher price and what is the winner, that's those recommend you on Altis 1.8 even new or 2nd hand unit.
in my opinion there is no point getting a 7-8 year old car where a car would probably last up to 20 years before those major problem

Am driving Altis 1.8 year 2006. For pickup...cant say anything coz is depends on individual to define "power".
About the weight ratio, is it mean fuel consumption? RM 80 for 550 km from Cheras Jusco selatan to PJ sec 14 and back during office hour everyday.
If Altis 1.8 second hand year 2003 till 2007 is in your budget (70K). Dont chose so "old" one la...year 07 (Gen 9) till 08 (Gen 10) OK d....
Altis 1.6 Auto, Better don't
Altis 1.6 Manual (rare), Yes. Can...my fren is driving one.
my definition of power means able to climb up genting without hearing the grewk grewk sound of engine straining. why better avoid 1.6 altis, mind to share? as in compared to vios

How in the here for everyone talks like driving a super car as pickup better lah..
Since you have C segment then to be enjoy as family ride and drive as safety that is the best to decide an car.
If really wanna best it pickup and handing as well in corner for the only sport car will do.
not crazy about power just annoying when my 1.5 saga goes up genting with grewk grewk sound of engine straining.
ya, for family car why not choose a new E vios compared to 7-8 years altis? those 1.8 var still selling like close to 70K for low mileage

Frankly speaking, 1.8 is a better option, 1.8 Altis <5-6 year was much better than branded new Myvi, after used for 2-3 year, you will find the different between local car and Japanese car.
For power and performance ,new myvi and vios is in different league as compare to Altis 1.8. Furthmore, Altis 1.8 FC was amongst the best in 1.8 segment. For 1.8G, it came with VSC as well.
it's just pure power to weight comparison, i'm not a speeder on highway. 120kmh is the speed i'll stick to, i just wanna have better acceleration thats all

Gen9 Altis 2003/2004 just cost less than RM50k . . . . .
Anyway, Gen9 and Gen10 using same engine, so there is not much different in spec sheet as well . . . .
thanks but you just mention a 10 year old altis, which i'm not gonna invest a car that will be going major overhaul. i want to have that car for at least another 10-15 years problem-free
