comparing altis 1.6, vios, and myvi 1.5, which 1 has the best pickup, torque and power to weight ratio?

i personally feel that altis 1.6 is quite underpowered compared to vios, due to it's weight.

so comparing all 3 models, which 1 has a better buy? ( altis would be second hand thou)

thanks guys, so clarify things, here are my wishlist:
1. new vios @ 75K
2. 2nd hand altis 1.6 year 2009-2011 @ around 75-80K. that's why i'm not aiming the 1.8 var
3. new myvi 1.5 @ 57K, save the spare for other use

sorry this thread is actually comparing the performance of these 3 cars. my main concern is real power being produced on the road loaded with 2 or 3 passenger

1.8 is out of the league. Cost is the main factor and not more than 70k budget. which means that getting an aging altis 1.8 is quite pointless as well.

if u were to compare vios new vs myvi new vs good condition latis 2nd hand,
i will go for altis
its cheaper than vios
slightly higher than myvi
but much better than both

Here of 3 cars an never to get comparison of performance, what you pay as higher price and what is the winner, that's those recommend you on Altis 1.8 even new or 2nd hand unit.

Am driving Altis 1.8 year 2006. For pickup...cant say anything coz is depends on individual to define "power".
About the weight ratio, is it mean fuel consumption? RM 80 for 550 km from Cheras Jusco selatan to PJ sec 14 and back during office hour everyday.
If Altis 1.8 second hand year 2003 till 2007 is in your budget (70K). Dont chose so "old" one la...year 07 (Gen 9) till 08 (Gen 10) OK d....

Altis 1.6 Auto, Better don't
Altis 1.6 Manual (rare), Yes. Can...my fren is driving one.

How in the here for everyone talks like driving a super car as pickup better lah..

Since you have C segment then to be enjoy as family ride and drive as safety that is the best to decide an car.

If really wanna best it pickup and handing as well in corner for the only sport car will do.

Frankly speaking, 1.8 is a better option, 1.8 Altis <5-6 year was much better than branded new Myvi, after used for 2-3 year, you will find the different between local car and Japanese car.

For power and performance ,new myvi and vios is in different league as compare to Altis 1.8. Furthmore, Altis 1.8 FC was amongst the best in 1.8 segment. For 1.8G, it came with VSC as well.

Gen9 Altis 2003/2004 just cost less than RM50k . . . . .
Anyway, Gen9 and Gen10 using same engine, so there is not much different in spec sheet as well . . . .

in my opinion there is no point getting a 7-8 year old car where a car would probably last up to 20 years before those major problem

my definition of power means able to climb up genting without hearing the grewk grewk sound of engine straining. why better avoid 1.6 altis, mind to share? as in compared to vios

not crazy about power just annoying when my 1.5 saga goes up genting with grewk grewk sound of engine straining.

ya, for family car why not choose a new E vios compared to 7-8 years altis? those 1.8 var still selling like close to 70K for low mileage

it's just pure power to weight comparison, i'm not a speeder on highway. 120kmh is the speed i'll stick to, i just wanna have better acceleration thats all

thanks but you just mention a 10 year old altis, which i'm not gonna invest a car that will be going major overhaul. i want to have that car for at least another 10-15 years problem-free

Based on your comparison, if the budget within Myvi 1.5 range, the Vios and Altis probably second hand with the Altis even older '03?. I would go for Vios or Altis anytime over milo tin Myvi. Altis & Vios are technically proven most reliable though handling wise, none of them are good. Torque and power all go to Toyota.

If you wanted to go for the old Altis, you can still keep driving it as its reliability is good enough to last for few years more before require overhauling. Overhauling the Altis engine totally would cost around RM4000 for inline4 engine if done at Toyota SC. Do outside, will end up getting conned instead. Terbalik when comes to overhaul.

TS, well can see that you already have the answer in your mind. I have driven all 3 cars you mentioned. Altis 1.6 is underpowered from my point of view. and the interior is not so attracting.
Vios is a good car and some said is the chick magnet car...hahahaha...and this I heard from the vios gang members said that the old model vios is more power then the dugong face (which I'm doubt) coz I still got no chance to do the testing..hahaha..
For Myvi, I owned 1.3 premium 2006 and now my sister owned 1.5se. If you are going 120km on highway.....not a problem at all. 1.5 myvi improved on the suspension where it go stiffer.

Talk about price. Altis 1.8 year 2006 around 50-60k, vios year 2007-2008 around 60k something. Myvi 1.5se new car 56k something...

P/s: any car also can go genting.....

the reason why newer vios and older vios is in terms of acceleration. new 1 use electronic control while old 1 uses string, that's why there is a noticeable lag on newer vios during pick up. asked foreman about these

doesnt know complete overhaul cost just rm4K on toyota SC wow unsure.gif
