hey guys smile.gif this one I should probably ask uncle Guugle first but here goes tongue.gif

Any recommended insurance provider for our lovely Neo?
Mine expiring soon on April 29, someone suggested me to renew earlier to avoid paying GST, not sure whether theres any diff tho..

All the while Im lazy and just take from AmBank, which I got my loan from. I never do research before, but I assume some providers will provide better benefits/cheaper to insure than another?

I tried Progressive Insurance before and they actually refused to insure my car, saying Neo is more prone to accident unsure.gif

Thanks ya

My company provide complement towing service of RM150 each breakdown, tentatively up to 6 times(may be more) throughout the policy period. We have wide range of PIAM(Persatuan Insurance Am Malaysia) registered workshops around the country. Satey NEO is a REFERRED risk, due to "so called performance" posses and the owner range is usually young guns with high octane & hot blooded, which is why some company choose not to accept it. No loading within 10 year old cars, but subject to driver loading if you're below 24(since the last birthday) prior insurance inception date.

If talk about GST, the rule have not being made to collect 6% YET. There's a chance even if you renew your insurance earlier(prior GST inception date on 1/4/2015), chances are after your policy inception date 29/4/2015 your insurer will send you a letter of demand to ask you pay the GST. Refuse to do so, your insurer has the right to use your paid premium to submit GST, whatever outstanding premium will be used to deduct from your total sum insured. For example:

1) You purchased insurance before 1/4/2015. You think you can out smart our ever so cleber gabermen. You insured RM20k, paid premium of RM700. So you have avoided the 6% GST.

2) On 30/4/2015, you received a registered mail. Your insurer said, your insurance premium of RM690(RM10 stamp duty excluded) is subjected to GST. You're required to go back to our branch counter to make payment of RM41.40(6% of 690) for insurer to submit GST. Fail to comply within 14 days from the date of letter sent out, outstanding payment will be automatically revert to reduced of sum insured.

3) You say, I die die dun wan pay! Your insurer say fine, deduct from your premium. So now, your premium only worth RM648.60. If you're having 55% NCD on policy, good chance is your current sum insured left only RM16k instead of RM20k.

Ask yourself, can you buy another Satey for RM16k in the event of (touch wood) total loss or theft loss?

So, my answer is yes and no. My car expire on 20/3/2015. I thought I can get away, but according to my underwriters, not a chance. From 1/4/2015 onwards, until next 19/3/2016, there's a chance that I'll still have to fork out the 354/365 * 6% * gross premium for GST. Yes is, if GST tarak jalan, then I no need to pay back. No is, since GST tarak jalan, why would I worry so much? Yes and No, stay at the middle. This 1 according to my underwriter again, PIAM(Persatuan Insurance Am Malaysia) is currently making an effort to discuss with kastom, in the hope to set a cut off date and waive all GST for policies that issued prior inception date.

If you finally decided to use my company, PM me your contact. I'll get the branch related person to deal with you directly. In order to enjoy the 10% rebate, you'll have to be there at the branch counter, or speak to our marketing officer incase if he/she nearby you guys can hook up for a quick teh tarik session and settle it there & then. No we do not provide on-line self service facilities. Insurance is about SERVICES. We provide customer the best insurance experience, knowledge, benefit and technical know how. Why I type so long essay? Because it is my passion. If you're so fond of doing it online, then sorry you'll have to find other insurance company and pray hard hopefully they'll provide you the service that my company has to offer.
