a story need to progress, and this is what the mangaka can come up with i guess. well, the rumour is that the manga is being drawn by his wife since Yoshihiro Togashi has died. so maybe thats the reason?
but strictly speaking, where is reolio and kurapica? i know they are just side character but it has been ages since they made an appearance.

Leorio is busy with his studies and taking examinations while Kurapika still serving his boss so that he can collect back all his clan's eyeballs.
