Just totally based on rumours, if we indeed go for Garay, it would Vida and Evans/Garay while Smalling and Rio to be the main backups. Jones move to midfield and be our version of Khedira/Fletcher/Vidal. I think he is that talented as well.

Purely based on rumours, if United could really get Ozil or even Modric, that would be fine piece of business (depending on the price, still good business). Perhaps

then we will understand why they left it late. Bayern got their Thiago. Barca with their Neymar. You get the idea, that most big clubs already done their business of

major transfer dealings. That would leave only United and maybe one or two other competitions for such signings (at least less than if we try to bid for them

earlier). Having said that, I still wouldn't want any of the experienced players United already have to leave. If we add just either Modric or Ozil, United would be

awesome already. Nani/Valencia/Young back on form. Rooney to play with renewed vigour after seeing the arrival of big name players. Kagawa finally settling in at

United. RvP to continue being the top league goal scorers. Vidic to have full season (he is the key, such an immense defender!). Let younger players like Clev,

Ando, Janujaj and Zaha to play in the cup games and ride on the good team's forms. Then again, will wait until 2nd September brows.gif

Janujaz "the next Ozil". He looks abit similar in style and perhaps because

of him being left-footed. Give him and Lingaard the chance. What we need

is someone experienced to pull the strings in the middle who can operate

defensively as well. Then again, perhaps we could give Ando another last

chance.

Missing link: The position that Giggsy is occupying today. Fit Kagawa should do well there. Time for new signing in the middle? tongue.gif

Valencia is coming back into form. Pressuring the fullback and force him into mistakes. Kagawa and Rooney in the 2nd half please.

I thought Wazza got tackled from behind by Michu for Welbz goal. He was

hurt a bit I think, hence lack of celebration. Other than that, in terms of

actual play, he had pretty good game I think.

Wazza "looks" unfit and not interested, but still assisted two goals. That

reason alone should tell United not to sell him to Chelsea. Worst case, sell

to club outside of PL.

There has been rumours saying that Valencia was given permission to talk

to Chica, but he rejected the proposed move because he wants to stay.

Hope that just agent's bs.

Evra is still good, but not as 2007 - 2009 Evra good IMHO. Plus he is in his 30's now. Even though Baines is not that far from turning 30 himself, but a little bit of

competition for places can only be good for the team. Plus he has one sweet left foot. Buttner is not good defensively, but can be a good backup as a winger.

True, playing style might change after several games, if not several seasons. One thing United have is great finishers of the game. It is nice to play possession

game but if finishing is lacking, there is no point to it as well. Having said that, it does put more pressure to the opponent and less chance-making by them too. It is

not nice United being dominated possession-wise but what matters are the 3 points. tongue.gif

The striker's agent, Eduardo Hernandez, is quoted as saying: "Of course he wants to play more, to have more minutes, to participate more, but he wants to do it at United, he wants to defend the title and go far in the Champions League.

"The interest from Valencia was real. He had the chance to speak with the sporting director [Braulio Vazquez] but Javier, I reiterate, wants to stay at Manchester United, this is the challenge.

"He was very grateful to Valencia and the other clubs who called him.

"It's not a question of money - we didn't even talk about that subject, there's only one subject for Javier: he wants to play and be a starter at United.

"He knows it's a very competitive club and that he has to fight to play every day, in the dressing room and on the training ground, but he's not scared, he says he's more motivated than ever.

"His outlook is the same as when he moved to English football; to triumph.

"Now, with the new manager, he has a lot of hopes, a big desire to play and to grow as a footballer. This season is a new challenge for him.

"He wants to triumph in England. He knows that a starting spot comes with working hard and he has to take advantage of the opportunities that come his way, like he did with Alex Ferguson."

why united didnt sign willian

Anderson is better tongue.gif If only he keeps his fitness and weight in check. Plus we still have Nani and Kagawa, not to mention the immense talent of Janujaz. 30

million is a lot for a player, and I don't think Willian is worth that much. The likes of Ozil might be worth that much. It's like what Gary Neville said about paying

too much for an average foreign players.

Haven't watch the highlights yet, but from what I have read so far, Wazza had a very good game, if not great. Getting back to what he does best. Getting really involved from back to front. He is such a force when he is on song, and would be very disappointing if he is sold, especially to United's main rival. Just need other players to click into gear and find their form. Nani, Kagawa and Rooney on form is just awesome. No need to say much about RvP, although we can rely too much on him. It is still early in the season, and United will click into gear and smooth operation in due time. Even the smooth Dortmund engine is finding it hard in the first two games.

Fellaini might not be the world-class player or big star signing that United fans would love, but he would be useful as midfield cover which would let players like Cleverley strive in the final third. I like Clev but I don't think he is there yet playing in the middle.

I would love Bale to come to United, but only if the purchase does not
hinder the team, as we all already know United need a new midfielder. tongue.gif Be it buying or bringing in from the reserves/youth team.

I don't think Kagawa can be considered underutilised for this season yet. Remember he was involved in the
Confed Cup, and joined the preseason tour in the very late stage. I think he is not fit enough yet where players like Welbeck and Giggs were there from the start of the tour. Plus United have like 5 big games at the start of the season. I think as the season progresses we will see more of Kagawa and less of Giggsy and Welbz. Who knows, we might see new faces there. Wait until 2nd Sept is done. tongue.gif

United deserved to lose than Liverpool to win it IMHO. United were struggling initially but then took control of the game, but lack thrust and incisiveness at the final

third. Lack of midfield intelligence in the final third is very much evident, the defensive part is still ok although Carrick had a stinker. Hope for good news at least

later today and tonight.

Will see how it goes within the last hours, but am hoping to see more of Janujaz and Zaha in the next few games (at least after Man City) and less of Young and

Giggs please. Giggs can still play, but not full 90 minutes and certainly not every game. Just hoping Anderson, Zaha, Kagawa is currently having intensive workouts

to get their fitness ready at least.
