QUOTE(Wan @ Aug 20 2013, 08:16 AM)
According to the press that followed our pre-season, they talked to Moyes and apparently he said he wanted two CMs. One of the Thiago/Cesc type, and another more defensive. Fellaini is the more defensive type I guess.

We need bodies in there. We only have one reliable option currently, Carrick, and he can't be expected to play all of our games at 32 years of age. Cleverley started brilliantly, but since the 2nd half of last season, faded badly..and that form followed him into this season. Ando is not doing better and he's a sicknote. Giggs and Jones are not natural CMs. It's ok for them to cover a game here and there but we can and need to do better than that this time around.

As great as Evra have been for us, good quality delivery into the box was never one of them. Last season he put in some good crosses tho, and this season seems to improved a lot on that! Moyes told him to work on his crossing more? Whatever it is, it makes sense looking at who we have at LW. Kagawa/Welbeck/Young/Nani/Zaha/Giggs. They would all come inside and roam about. Having Baines playing behind them, would give us consistent delivery into the box that the wingers won't consistently provide, seeing all but one of them are right footed.

Baines is not young anymore, but then in a few seasons time would be our experience head once Rio/Vida/Evra are not there anymore and would help the likes of Evans, Smalling, Jones, Rafael, Fabio who are all in their early 20's.

my guess is DM instructs evra to put in more early crosses rather than trying more tricks in the build up, perhaps to save energy for him to run back in time hmm.gif

‘Ed Woodward has previously been on the commercial side and concentrating on bringing money into the club rather than spending it. It is a totally different outlook. He will learn that.

obligation i believe is only in the pitch, when player with team like travel etc. outside or any in commercial type i believe they(adidas/nike etc) still need to pay extra for someone to appear. but whatever the real situation i think these day all details are stated in their contract. everthing is bout money these day. notice in this commercial ronaldo did appears but wt no adidas logo seen wt him

oh where is ozil here? he is adidas man somemore

Chica - 15M - BPL/CL/WC/Fed proven

Levy or AVB high on drugs?

15M for chica is definitely insult..

but would think that soldado justifies the price tag..if not mistaken he was the only none barca/RM player in the starting 11 when Spain played in the FIFA Confederation cup last month unsure.gif

final rush for speculation

QUOTE
United make €30m bid for Spanish midfielder

http://www.thebusbybabe.com/manchester-uni...s-ander-herrera

QUOTE
So what do we know about Herrera?

He was a part of the 2011 Spanish under-21 Championship winning team, playing alongside Thiago Alcantara in midfield, and has been key for Bilbao over the past few seasons.

Herrera has been likened to Steven Gerrard for his box-to-box style, and is capable of playing in a variety of positions, defensively and offensively.

He has of course already played at Old Trafford, scoring in Bilbao's 3-2 win in the Europa League two seasons ago. They reached the final of the competition, and an in-form Herrera scored four times and provided 12 assists.
