Hi all,
I am thinking to grab a HTC One likely the next price drop (it's around 2k for quite some time). Here's a few questions that I wish to know more about. 1. I will intend to unlock and root my device as I really dig the DT2W or tap the logo to wake (power button is too far away at the top la), as well as the Modaco Switch thingy. I figure I could retain my warranty if I use the RevOne method instead of HTCDev, but would like to hear more on this matter. Any idea if I should pick a Brightstar set over a SIS one for this matter as well? 2. I really like the black version. To me, it's more sleek looking but it is susceptible to dents around the chamfers and scratches/scuff for the aluminium. Any real-life reports (I have read about discussion on XDA and I think scuffing is not really an issue)? I use my phone NAKED and I am not interested in using a casing. I might go for a bumper if it doesn't affect the grip of the phone too much. I am okay with the silver version, but am worried that the white plastic will turn yellowish over time (again it will be naked). Any advice or comments? (Red is too much for me, LOL!) |

QUOTE(RyoKenzaki @ Aug 31 2013, 10:12 PM) I have the black version and was using it with a case but it doesnt cover the top and bottom part I think small chip is fine, a Sharpie can hide it easily. I was considering Butterfly S before mainly for its less vulnerable plastic case but figure it was too big for me. Need to stretch thumb to drag the notification bar when hand in default position.I put in pocket with nothing else inside still get chipping on top and bottom although not really obvious... I think butterfly and butterfly s is very ugly. If I really want 5 inch phone I rather use S4. I'm a ex S4 owner and this htc one screen size is really suitable for me. |

QUOTE(Xirality @ Aug 31 2013, 06:44 PM) This had been proven? XiralityYeah true, still wondering want to root or not. For the sake of longer battery life. whats there to prove? just use trickstermod and u can see the max freq is set to 1.1 only during powersaving..hehe ^^ i root it because of batterylife and also to try some unofficial updates from developers..rooting gives me more customiztion..hehe^^ choice is yours...^^ |

The chipping is that bad? I can't imagine having to use a Sharpie to touch up a RM2k+ phone...

Me, but i dont have the emergency call, just keep switching between 3g, h, and lte, signal on and off very frequently till cant fb, then signal bar drop to 1bar QUOTE(blackchides @ Sep 1 2013, 11:48 AM) It's not as bad if u take good care of it, mine is just a few dot size chipping, use sharpie to touch up but u can see the tone difference For most ppl it would be no prob but for ppl with OCD, its really killing me.... QUOTE(livinginsin @ Sep 1 2013, 08:22 AM) Xirality Oh okay. Just want a correct answer. Seems like HTC One doesn't have a solid reason for me to root. So far battery saving mode doing well for me if I need longer battery life.whats there to prove? just use trickstermod and u can see the max freq is set to 1.1 only during powersaving..hehe ^^ i root it because of batterylife and also to try some unofficial updates from developers..rooting gives me more customiztion..hehe^^ choice is yours...^^ |
