change battery?
i think they wouldn't wanna trouble and risk themselves too much
teardown for htc one is 9 of out 10. means its one of the MOST difficult phone to repair.
pulling the unibody off will probably mean that the reattachment of the body may not be perfect.

so, once the battery is phucked, means the phone is phucked too? as in, it won't be the same body condition as u bought? like it won't fit well back again?

anybody changed the battery yet?

sorry. my statement was incorrect earlier.
it was rated 1 our of 10 in ifixit.com
means its damn difficult to repair/ teardown htc one.

when the battery is phucked, change phone..hahahaha
2 years is the average lifecycle of mobile phones. (of course depending how much u put effort to give it a longer mileage). by then the technology is outdated/obsolete.
Overcharging the battery overnight is one of the reason why battery dies so fast.

1 month save rm100.
2 years time, you can afford another phone when it breaks down.
or u can just wait for uncle benny to sell his phone away.

makes sure u take pic of the phone before sending it to repair/replace parts.

later here dent there dent.
you can NEVER trust htc service or any service in Malaysia. Especially given their record of "promising" delivery in 3 weeks, which always end up taking months.
It's not as competitive and reliable as other countries yet.

the main reason i buy htc one is simply because of the aluminium body.

Actually the alu body makes no different IMO, still going to use case because its prone to scratch so much!
It's a shame and im really disappointed with HTC One's build quality
Would jump to Butterfly S anytime but dont have the extra money cry.gif

Bro, it is hard to say what happen to the phone? Did he push/pressure the phone? He didnt mention which lens...I assuming the camera lens on the back.....

Did he put a case on the phone? how he handle the phone? if u put the keys with the phone and the when u accidentally knock urself at the table when the phone in ur pants, so ngam the key point on the lens, of course it crack...ANY PHONE or camera also will crack,
you must know, gorilla glass is on the screen not the lens,

Another scenario
I believe that if u throw the phone in a nearby fire place from a 70 degrees then in fridge 0 degrees the aluminium will expand and contract, thus cause the pressure on the lens, it will crack, remember aluminium is still metal
metal will expand a bit when heated, and because the design is no gap design, there is possibility this happen but this is only when you put the phone very very hot like 80 degrees above....is like the phone on fire
if u use plastic phones, u can see it melts

i understand you worry but up to how many cases this happen, maybe 1 in a million..if you are the person, then sorry to say bad luck lo

if you say the gap issue, or purplish camera, yes that is a known case...SO no worries!

well, some ppl do like this, when outside, the wear the phone with a case but when office or sitting at star bucks, the case is off and ppl can see the design......n u can feel the metal premium

Yes I do agree with you but not everyone have build quality issue

HTC did an excellent job replacing my friend HTC one motherboard. I couldn't see any trace of casing being removed. The very very minor gaps that was there has even improved. Biggest issue was he needed to wait about 40 days for it.
One week after I sent in for him he bought another unit (64gb). Two days after I got it back for him, I sold on his behalf. He make a loss of rm1400 selling it as he needed to pay rm700 for the motherboard change. Anyway this is peanuts loss as he change phones like it costs him nothing!!!

it is sorry to hear that, the technician in msia havent had enough experience to handle it coz is too new and too different design, i hope they had been sent for training...

but I believe, if more ppl send it phone more, then they will have more hands on...but sorry to say the first 100 maybe a lab rat phones for them to test...
if after 100 phones they repair n they still sux, then HTC really have issue

I don't really get what you're saying. Aluminium is not supposed to be scratch resistant. Metal phones obviously run the risk of scratches easily compared to plastic phones. sweat.gif
