Why would even Samsung, HTC and possibly even LG /Sony too would like to have phones based on stock Android too ?
Some people hate OEM UI ( Sense, Sony, Touchwiz) - I am one of them. It doesn't mean you are better or more intelligent than those who like stock Google OS

No need to backup but it is a good practice to make/have a nandroid backup always
You are only updating a recovery - I have yet to hear/read updating or changing recovery has caused any problems

HTC phones - yes I have used these :most recent past 2 years - Incredible S, Sensation, One X, One X+, One
And I do not like HTC Sense and I always replace it with , say usually Nova launcher and put in stuffs that I like/wish

For Celcom, you must change your card to LTE enabled one. I change mine few days ago at Menara Celcom. Was told can change the card at only limited places : Menara Celcom Jln Semarak KL, Bluecube Sunway and Pavilion Bluecube
Your card will be ready to use in an hour. There is NO charge to change the card

I dunno about this ; that was what the Celcom staff told me as he gave me the card straightaway after filling in a form. I guess they need some bit of time to update their system and saying an hour is just a safeguard. Unlike my previous card changing experience, the staff will only access and update system and than gave me a replacement card - such are always immediately activated

The 64gb is only rm200 extra. You need not be rich to buy it

That rom combo is good n your battery drain is quite good already ( assuming your 3g is on). You should be happy with it
If you want lower you can try install some 3rd party battery saving apps which might or might not work
Having used so many Android none can ever match my previous xperia z where with 3g on n active fb n mail refresh battery drop over 7-8 hours hardly 1% n this is due to Sony stamina mode. All this on stock rom n kernel

Depend on your luck . 50/50 you can get a good unit
The Poetic case for the Nexus 4 took up to 3 revisions to improve its quality. I got the second revision and was assured it was much better but alas not so as the edges show peeling signs after 2 weeks !!
Surprised for this phone model, Poetic doesn't seem to have improved its quality yet as I still see users reporting peeling off issues

I sold off my friend 2 month old unit for RM 1450. He has since upgraded to 64GB unit
I think you can ask for minimum RM1500-1600 for it at garage sales

If you cannot do s-off, than just need to use htcdev and pray that if you need to claim warranty HTC will still honour it.

There are indeed reported cases here in lowyat users had claim warranty successfully with BL unlock thro htcdev
This is again at HTC Service Center discretion. If they think your problem is not due to BL unlocking, than warranty is still given. You can see a detailed terms and conditions of such at the HTCdev website

Hot and very hot is subjective. You should at least state what temperatures are you seeing
If the battery temperatures is ranging 45 to 50 degree C - this is acceptable for intensive apps . You will feel warmness but than again some will say this is hot !!

HTC did an excellent job replacing my friend HTC one motherboard. I couldn't see any trace of casing being removed. The very very minor gaps that was there has even improved. Biggest issue was he needed to wait about 40 days for it.
One week after I sent in for him he bought another unit (64gb). Two days after I got it back for him, I sold on his behalf. He make a loss of rm1400 selling it as he needed to pay rm700 for the motherboard change. Anyway this is peanuts loss as he change phones like it costs him nothing!!!

He hard brick it when trying to use RUU on stock Rom. Don't know how lah as he said the process suddenly cutoff midway. He disconnected cable n phone can only boot into fastboot mode. Htc said since phone BL unlock n show tampered warranty not covered n need motherboard change.

You need a specific 4g card unlike Maxis any past 1year+ micro simcard will do.
Get it only at Menara Celcom Jln Semarak or Bluecube Sunway, Pavilion
Actually Celcom really lousy with such limit n only 3 outlets to get card
Is a free exchange

Ridiculously cheap only 1k

I always sell cheaper than market one lah!!!
