Great! Decided to put a 120mm fan on my side casing (available fan slot) with double ultra-fine filters (can't stand the dust!). Blows directly into the casing on top of my GTX760.
Gaming Metro LL for 20 minutes (full settings 1920 x 1080, closed casing), max temp at 57'c only at 67% fan speed (1920rpm). A reduction in GPU temp of 3-4% 'c! Air-con room at 26'c..... on idle, GPU drops down to 31'c after 10 minutes..... This post has been edited by kmarc: Aug 10 2013, 10:56 PM |

QUOTE(Exeunt @ Aug 11 2013, 01:01 AM) may i ask what brand is your fan filter...planning to get one as well.. Using silverstone magnetic ultrafine filter. Bought it from here : https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2817021&hl=without a/c, my gtx 670 is around 37c (idle) with a/c, temp only only drop to 35c.. (idle) Even with the ultrafine filter, the pesky dust can still go through. That's why decided to put double filter for the side fan (1 filter before and 1 filter after the fan). However, since it is ultrafine, it filter dust better than the normal filters. However, the magnet is handy as I can just stick it to anywhere that is metal. You're using MSI GTX760 too? How's your casing airflow? My casing is CM 690 advance. 1x 140mm and 1x120mm fan blowing in, 2x140mm (temperature controlled) and 1x120mm fan blowing out. QUOTE(Cable707 @ Aug 11 2013, 06:55 AM) I'm using it. No problems so far. However, my previous GTX460 also had intermittent freeze when using this driver. Had to switch back to 314.22 to avoid the problem.....This post has been edited by kmarc: Aug 11 2013, 11:21 AM |

QUOTE(marfccy @ Aug 11 2013, 02:40 PM) im using the non ultrafine one atm, gotta say the meshing is wide but it do hold its own against dusts Interesting. Yeah, where to get the extra finer mesh for DIY?of course, the finer ones do end up inside my rig, i cant totally filter them unless i make a mesh of my own. another of my friend DIYed the very same filter as me with extra finer mesh. so far he said that dusts cant even be spotted until a month has passed or even more I really feel like wrapping all openings with meshes!!!!! |

QUOTE(calapia @ Aug 12 2013, 03:16 PM) hey wanna ask expert here..i just upgrade to gtx760 and changed to 600w PSU. do i need to get any extra cooler fan for the GPU? so far i never overclock my system. i see u guys installed all sort of cooler system in your system? In general, no need unless, as mentioned above, your casing airflow is very poor.what brand is yours and how's your temp like? |

QUOTE(Exeunt @ Aug 15 2013, 04:25 AM) hi guys, please help me,currently having this issues for long time already Reinstall the drivers using clean install?this problem only happen when i click adjust image setting with preview then this error pop up.. [attachmentid=3582974] it does not affect my gaming but it is annoying when i click control panel and this pop up .. driver ver 314.07 gtx 670 pe QUOTE(rav3n82 @ Aug 15 2013, 06:41 AM) Temperature is on the high side of 80C. As I was earlier explaining elsewhere, the feature of GPU Boost 2.0 is that the GPU will try to expand all available headroom to achieve the boost clock, until the temperature target of 80C is reached. So you will usually see the card getting a load temperature of around 80C. Most reference cards also will hit this range. Noise is ok, more often than not, you will hear your casing fans drowning out its noise. As mentioned a few pages back, the MSI GTX760 auto fan setting is too conservative.... full-load with temperatures of 70-71'c but the fan running at only 42% fan speed. But MSI definitely has a much superior cooling solution. At auto fan settings, temperatures only maxes out at around 70C +, an impressive ~10C less than the temperature target. You can manually tweak the fan settings for an even more impressive temperature profile. Really wished owners of GTX760 would post their temperatures and fan speed. Want to see how other cards perform. Of course, want to reassure myself that I bought an expensive card (for it's range) for good reasons..... Oh well, will post some pics tonight, idle at 28-29'c after fan speed set to 80% for 10-20 minutes (aircon room set at 25'c with closed casing)..... QUOTE(rav3n82 @ Sep 10 2013, 12:08 PM) Haha, if you look carefully, the chart contradicts itself. Both of the recommended cards are 2GB based, but then the recommended VRAM is 3GB, so which should we follow? Yeah, guess have to wait for the actual game.....For now, enough powder.... |

Cool down guys. We're not here to see who's balls is bigger or who's pocket is deeper.

QUOTE(rav3n82 @ Sep 24 2013, 02:17 PM) Let's start by discussing something else. Really can't wait to see what AMD can offer although my poor non-4k-capable GTX760 (sorry sorry, can't resist it Khemah merah coming with R9 290X tomorrow. Anyway, hope to see some healthy competition with AMD's offering. |

QUOTE(rav3n82 @ Sep 24 2013, 02:32 PM) GTX 760 still a nice sweet little card. I think will still hold strong, don't worry. Until AMD releases their mid range lineup, then maybe....haha. But regardless, I think AMD will only release a new GPU, Hawaii for their high end series. The rest will likely feature respin cards (hopefully not direct rebranding), much like GTX 770 and 760 did. Nvidia vs AMD, I will probably still stick with Nvidia due to physX (unless unjustifiable price vs performance). Can't live without it...... Yeah, competition is always good. I for one, never believed in a single monopoly by any single brand. Note : Now, don't anybody start debating on whether physX is needed or not..... QUOTE(rav3n82 @ Sep 24 2013, 03:35 PM) Agreed, that is also one of the reason that I do consider when getting a graphic card. While it's true that most game engines will employ some form of their own physics engine, I see the PhysX as an added feature. I mean, if we can get this extra "perk" just by having Nvidia card, why not? Some will argue that PhysX will greatly affect the framerates, and it's true actually, but can be remedied by cutting down on anti-aliasing (or just stick with FXAA). A great example is Borderlands 2, playing with the PhysX effect "on" looks so much cooler, and doesn't tax much on performance. That's why, after trying out a plethora of graphic cards, finally I will always end up with a Nvidia card. Waaaaah! So rich... plethora of graphic cards!!! Don't forget a 2nd lower-end physX card running together with the primary card (Nvidia or AMD). Of course, I'm the single-card guy.... Next game with physX that I'm waiting for is Batman Arkham Origin..... |
