Wah those toolkits seem like for repair laptop or mobile phone... sweat.gif but no people sell iFixit brand toolkit in GS at all? hmm.gif
DeathAdder is too big for me, tat's y i choose Imperator last time... how about tat new Taipan? icon_question.gif
*
Not that I know of. I haven't come across any iFixit sellers on LYN yet. Will let you know if I do find one.

And yeah like he said, Taipan is not much different from the DA, except for it's Ambidextrous shape. You might wanna consider the smaller Steelseries ones. Or get a new Imperator hahaha.

Hope you'll find a solution to fix your Razer though.

any recommendations for a TaoBao spree agent from LYN? tracylai not bad wink.gif
*
I recommend StrawberryGirL. No nonsense serious buyer. You let her know what you want. She will calculate total price amd let you know. Do not PM her. Message her on her threads first. She will PM you only when you confirm order. She ships from the US too, which I would NOT recommend as shipping and taxes are f***ing high, but you can still ask on her thread to see what the prices are like.

I'm buying Corsair Red Replacement Gaming Keycaps for my Vengeance K95 from her. If you wanna tumpang let me know.

i tried turning the volume up as far as i dare to... but the bass is just too overpowering. drowns out all the highs.  sweat.gif
*
Turning up the volume should not be the solution. Details should be apparent at comfortable listening levels. Unfortunately that headset is not meant for listening to music. Getting a sound card or entry level DAC/AMP helps but it's wasted on the Kraken.

You are better of getting the Shure SRH240/SRH440 for around RM200-350, but you'll need to get seperate mics. You can get a nice one from the US for RM8-10. If you want an attached Mic and better sound you can get the Beyerdynamic ONE Pro. Best gaming headset there is under RM1K range.

thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. bought the Kraken just to listen to music; but i have to say it's not quite my cup of tea. currently asking around for a Linearossa W1 *fingers crossed* (so i can pair it with my SE777 as well brows.gif )

i've got a gaming headset already, the Megalodon. very, VERY happy with that one, served without fail since 2009. i don't foresee an upgrade anytime soon.
*
No worries. But yeah, I wouldn't get a Razer headset for music lol. Good luck finding the Linearossa!

But if you do decide to upgrade your megalodon, get the Beyer Custom ONE Pros. You also be VERY happy with that one. brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

there's a headset that be as comfortable as the Kraken.

SMS Audio Street by 50 cents.

Going to get that as my b'day present biggrin.gif
*
A Shure SRH440 at half the price will kick your Audio Streets to kingdom come. For the Krakens price range it's a better comparison anyways.

eeyerrr always recommend something i like biggrin.gif

But too bad the SRH440 is professional style which norm like me don't need that much.

If you're talking about a headphone for comfort and sounding at the same time, I do recommend XB500 by Sony MDR.

Although it can't compete with the more professional big brother MDR750 but seriously a XB500 is already enough for people that need to put on their headphones for 5-8 hours wink.gif
*
Nope. Unless you're in an aircon room the XB500 would cause a lot of discomfort over the long run. Don't think you can last 2 hours in that headset in our weather. shakehead.gif

You don't want professional looking then get the Beyerdynamic Custom ONE Pro and customize it lah. Plus you get a proper Mic for gaming as well in a bundle purchase. brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

QUOTE(SpikeTwo @ Apr 22 2014, 09:16 AM)
why the fk i need to replace my button for a mouse i used just less than a year? you a fanboy? you paid for my mouse? or you get money from papa to buy your razer stuff? I RMA-ed the mouse and sold dirt cheap to a non gamer friend, and he used for a year then...guess what...it freaking double clicked again! Note that the mouse was not a repaired unit, it was new with new packaging directly send from Hong Kong. you RMA the mouse and the waiting period you use what? another mouse? so that's how you spend money?

my logitech G9 has been abused for 6 years, yes SIX and yet to give up. what say you? bad quality is bad quality.
why I can't complain for something i bought with my own money? so if its razer i have to hail and bend over? that's RM200+ worth of half arsed keypad and i demand quality for what i pay. yeah, you go on and be a fanboy until you learn how to earn your own money.  yawn.gif  shakehead.gif
*
This is just idiotic. Just because something's break down doesn't give you a right to go around complaining like a damsel in distress. Or even worse, accusing people as fan boys. The latest Logitech G700s is an absolute piece of crap. Every brand has their issues. You hit the jackpot with a reliable G9 so just be grateful.

Btw, it's membrane keypad. What do you expect from Razer. You already know and you yourself have been avoiding Razer for years. So live with your decision.

QUOTE(SpikeTwo @ Apr 22 2014, 05:03 PM)
the same can be said to you. i just point out the razer qc sucks. do you see my whole page of complains? not really. my initial post was to agree to another poster that the quality has real issues. you can find lots of double click issue after that batch. mine is not a one off case. I am using another G9X for a year and still no problem, if it does, i'm gonna let you know. i agree every brand has its problems. it is up to us consumers to notify others not to fall into marketing. but razer just has too much of them. but to defend a brand out of nothing is a fanboy's act. Logitech was put into the picture as a comparison. I would try other brand of mice if the G9X could just die...maybe corsair or SS or even Roccat.

I decided to buy the razer keypad because, it is just a keypad, since my dilemma came from bad mouse experience. and to both of you, since when i complain about membrane? i dont give a fk about mechanical keys. i said it wobbles...as in the base is not flat. what that has to do with membrane? my membrane keyboard lives for 7 years and counting. is that another jackpot? I encourage people to DIY if problem persists when their hardware is old..but if crap happens and happen again when it came back from RMA (even a new unit, new batch)...then the QC is really in question. If razer improves its QC, it would only benefit us, the users. There's no good reason to keep defending of what you bought.
*
First of all, me and quovadis aren't defending Razer. I'm not very fond of Razer either, especially their headsets.

Second, live with your decision. If it keeps on breaking down it will so simple as to not but Razer ever again. You ALREADY know their QC is crap. You ALREADY avoided it for years. You also know it's pricey and you've faced issues before. But you still buy it. So live with your decision to do so.

Third, notifying is one issue. But I have problems with you straight going out accusing other as fan boys. So if I disagree several of your point, that makes me a fan boy? Don't think so. We could have easily kept this civil, try to find oUT how are we gonna fix this, see if any others have ideas on how to solve it, maybe get with distributors and see if a collective complaint can get somewhere. Civil. That's it's. But no. Opposite happened. What, just because he ask to RMA you accuse him of being daddy's boy? What was that for?

Fourth, you think Razer gives a Shit? Baseline is cheap manufacturing cost, maximum profits. Same goes for every company.

Fifth, we said mechanical because more often than not custom mechanical pads are solidly built. Very rarely do custom boards have failures.

Sixth. No one Is defending what we bought. Quavadis was only giving suggestions. To which you claim fan boyism and shot it down.

Then we have nothing to disagree on this point

Then you get what I'm saying. Razer having QC issues is agreed apon. But how you exploded about it isn't right.

Did I say oh no, I'm gonna die because I bought a faulty unit? No. I know their QC is crap, but after so many years, after so many products, a keypad couldnt be much of a risk right? Wrong. Do I blame anyone for pointing a gun in my head to make me buy it? No. It is merely to inform even the base couldn't be made flat on razer's side.

Then stick to the goddamn base issue instead of pulverising about being fan boys FFS. You know their QC is crap. Always has, always will be. So you took the risk. Risk didn't work it. Go RMA it. Magic word here is risk. There is a big possibility there will be failures. You calculated it and took the risk. So live with it. That being said, thats all quavadis meant. No need to get all angry. It would have been very different if you said "Yeah I know, I hope Razer gets their Shit together. RMAing is such a pain. Paid a premium for it.". Same message. Different tone.

Hey, I have no problems people disagreeing with me. Other than suggestions he stated as if I couldnt complain for what I've bought. And my replies are still civil because what makes one think I should repair my own stuff that's less than a years old? Who doesnt know how to RMA within warranty period? Because only those with hard earned cash would understand the trouble of going thru RMA and what not after the premium you've paid. Civil means you and I are still typing here and not me and you standing face to face outside the forum, as a keyboard warrior as you might be.

As I said above, he didn't mean it to sound as what you think it is. Of course you're allowed to complain. But civil went out the window once you made those personal attacks. Civil means being nice. You claim you have no problems disagreeing. Fine. But again my point is, WHY the personal attack. Why the fanboy jibe. Why the daddy jibe. Was that called for? Still don't get it so you? Me and quovadis bought our stuff with our own hard earned cash. We ourselves worked hard it earn our own money to buy for things. We have gone through RMAs as much as anyone else.

And Murphy's law. When Shit happens. It happens. RMA the damn thing. That's it. Small sacrifice knowing it'll get fix. You think just because you paid premium things will always work? I got people returning expensive subwoofers on a weekly basis. My mechanic friend says mercs and BMWs have extremely high problem rates. They paid a premium didn't they? All he did was asking for you to go RMA it. Plus, I can tell you right now that's all he meant.

That's why your third statement is invalid to razer. And that is why, The only way is to warn potential consumers the facts, not steps on how to DIY what shouldnt be broken in less than a year.

How is it invalid? All I'm saying is be nice. Talk to people who has the same issues. Get with the distributors. Hence a bigger collective instead of just getting Pissed over being told to RMA. Razer won't give a Shit if you complain about it yourself.

be it a membrane, it could also be solidly built, but the base rubber isnt flat. it is solidly uneven. and i have no qualms ppl using what they like, but it has nothing to do with membrane in the discussion. So this point is also invalid. and I love membrane.

This is towards your point of paying a premium. You truly want premium, get a custom mechanical one. Membrane could also be solidly built. But we are talking about Razer here aren't we? Ain't happening

Suggestion is one thing. the first line is yeah, very legit suggestion. see the second sentence? Why I cant complain? Complain is a form of warning other users, and it is only a one time event, I complained about the wobbling.

Why do you have to take it so literally? I've explained above already. He didn't mean it. Maybe his English isn't as good as yours. Maybe he didn't take your feelings ibro consideration. But really, if he did say you can't poop either would you have listened? It's not absolute.

You yourself know this won't solve any issues. My simple short sentence example would have made this thread a whole lot more conductive if youve just chill about it. I won't be saying anymore after this as well. Have a good day sir.
