Do we need to redownload the whole thing for OBT or just update through the CBT launcher?

It has already been stated in FFXIV Beta Forums if you do care to read :/

Extracted from official Forum
Shojikun, maybe you wanna put this in front page for others...

no kidding

He deviated from the topic...

First, suggested for cloud strife outfit. Hence it is understandable that tifa/yuffie/aerith will be the classic outfit for female and I ask how will SE implement this.
It is unlikely that this is to be included as it will spoil the lore of the game.

Then he states why tifa... lightning is female and that they need something for male.

All I did was accusing for not following up his own topic and said there's snow outfit.

For that I am being accused for being cocky

Too cute

Anyone know if NA pre-order code will work with EU 1.0 game? or vice versa

I don't think it works.
The only code that is currently region free is Dalamud minion by purchasing the OST - Blue Meteor

I replied why tifa, what i mean is why u choose tifa.
Ok man, i apologize for being rude. My bad.

Whatever mate. I do accept your apologizes but seriously that was not what you posted and i really didn't know what to respond.

Anyhow, should there be this fan service of outfit, the likelihood of relevant Final Fantasy games are those that is involved with Time Travelling.
FFVII is not one of them. Here's a link of FF that has time travelling theme.

Final Fantasy - Time Travelling

Now... FFT outfit would be nice to have and i feel the form of outfit is rather relevant.

Seriously, wth with the outfit argue? Never played MMO with outfit systems?  hmm.gif

In fact I will be delighted if they continuously roll out outfit every couple of months, have an outfit collection book with long term reward, etc.
Usually other games do that through cash shop though.
*
QUOTE(meta69 @ Jul 19 2013, 08:23 PM)
Very. Yup, monthly subs. P2P Mmo, like WoW.
It's a good idea, yes. But I have to agree with Kira. Bringing up classic pro/antagonists outfits too much into the game would change the lore quality of it.

It'll make the title as if standing up on it's predecessors credentials.
*
Thanks for supporting me meta.
M1X, this is not your F2P MMORPG where company's sell outfit to boost income.
FFXIV is already a subscription based game. To include cash shop will be a bad move. You can either follow a F2P or P2P model.

Like WoW and FFXI, this is a heavily story driven game where the lore is important.
To bring in a costume has to be rather relevant.

How is it FFXIII Lightning Return relevant? Well for starters FFXIII has a time travelling theme. How will it impact the lore? Yoshida actually address this

Hence as shown above, producer Yoshida knows how important to keep the lore intact.

This question, I'm also seeking an answer. There's different answer to this, all replied by rep posted from players asking the same question. Even the rep have different answer which some saying "yes", some "maybe", some "no". So for the safe side, just buy a EU version for the pre-order code since you're EU 1.0 right?

I personally gamble with buying the pre-order of EU for my NA account.... Now, can anyone help me by directing me to anywhere that I can do a NA pre-order? I think I'll just buy both copy, and present one (maybe keep one for dual boxing lol) or both game codes to whoever wants it after launch.
*
Actually, I understand why some rep said yes.

If you have read soken's reply @ twitter (https://twitter.com/SOKENsquareenix), he mentioned that the pre-order code for "Dalamud" is region free.

Hence, some may think and assume that the bonus codes are all region free.

Then again, I also remembered that pre-ordering the NA/EU version of Blue Meteor is the same version as the JP as it is a direct import of it.

In relation to pre-order for the game itself, I would suggest that you treat it like beta codes.
i.e. Beta Code NA is only applicable for NA and vice versa.

hide those long long quotes plz >.<
btw, I just order another copy from amazon since I wanted to get the NA version. Could only order the non-digital version so around US$50.

Q. Anyone order through amazon? I didn't get any pre-order code like how I got one from ordering EU version with Greenmangaming.

From Amazon
Pre-order and Get Early Access and more
Pre-order Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and receive a token for early access to the game and digital in-game content including a Mog cap and minion pet. The token for early access will be emailed with instructions prior to early access opening. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Limited to one per customer order.

I'm confused with the above statement from amazon.
*
well, i didn't want to hide those long quotes so that ppl will read first hand haha! As it is a important point to support me hehe.

What are you confused about?

I've edited it, so can u read it again lol, sry to bother  tongue.gif

No worries.

They will just email you the codes and instruction on how to gain early access and relevant pre-order items.

For example, in Australia, we received this following email:-

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

But this is EU. Maybe in US, you actually get a code to submit directly in the management system.

Means those ppl who haven't got a beta code, has to hurry up and get one before the 22nd?

Many friends won't be able to participate since no beta code, wonder if SE will just give all who apply
*
please re-read :/

Firstly, application for beta test will be open till 22th July 2013.
It will then be re-open when beta phase 4 begins.

Those who already have the beta code must register by 30th or the code will be invalid and you have to resubmit for application again when phase 4 begins.

Square Enix Account Management System is international.
There is no eu, na or jp.

When you try to log into that management system, you can log in via https://secure.square-enix.com for any region.
Even so, your account is tied down based on the country that you have initially set

If you have set it as America. then all your codes otherwise stated must be generated from US server.
For example, NA beta codes cant be used for SE accounts that is not under NA.

If you have initially set the account under the NA region, either you make sure you buy a NA version of FFXIV or recreate another account that is non NA.

Additional notes
However, you can play any region using the same Game Client.

P.S. I have contacted SE about changing countries from North America to Australia. They can't do it.

@poipoy ok u just gotta make sure ur account management is under EUROPE if u buy from GMG and NA if u buy from AMAZON, you wont get to register the game into any region of SE management account yet since the option is not available. But somehow yu can actually register into this website http://eu.square-enix.com/en/seaccount. This is where most people get caught. For ur sake, ur safe, so just keep the code safe, if you have 1, and wait for their email

Sorry please stop confusing the community.

has nothing to do with actual game.

This https://secure.square-enix.com/

has everything to do with the actual game.
This is where you have put your beta key and such

That is my understanding and that all registration of the FFXIV is to be done in https://secure.square-enix.com/ since 2010.

yes you can register the early access activation code now to http://eu.square-enix.com/en/seaccount but i strongly advise you not to do it until further notice.

maybe they revamp their mail, cause the mail i got from GMG was like 1mth ago. The mail that i've got has created a lot of issues and unrest among gmg customers. But tbh i dont think GMG is the only party to be blame. EU SE shouldn't have let other region SE account management holders to login to their website and register the game. This has cause a lot of problem for customers
This is what GMG has send me:

Thank you for pre-ordering FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. As a valued customer, you are now entitled to the following rewards:
Early Access: Allowing access to the game servers ahead of the official launch, get your head start and make your mark in the realm of Eorzea.
Moogle Cap: Show your love of Final Fantasy and strut around the world of Eorzea in this Moogle themed hat. Kupo!
Cait Sith Doll Minion: On sabbatical from Shinra and looking for adventure, Cait Sith will join your party as a non-combat pet when you pre-order the game.
Please find your unique 18-digit code contained in this confirmation email.
Please go to http://preorder.eu.finalfantasyxiv.com and input your email address so we can send you a notification of when you can return and enter your code.
You will need an active Square Enix account to complete the process so, if you want to set one up in advance, please go here: http://eu.square-enix.com/en/seaccount.

Many existing NA SE account management holders got caught here since they allow them to log into http://eu.square-enix.com/en/seaccount and register the early access key
*
The email that was sent to you is correct where in that website http://eu.square-enix.com/en/seaccount is to explain to you why create a Square Enix Account

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Click one of those box and that will direct you to the actual management system. https://secure.square-enix.com/

Well lordsapt, your experience will definitely help those you order from GMG hehe
