I think there's a much simpler explanation for the ending:

Yupz! It would leave a mark instead of ending with a whimper.

Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

A little bit of Aliens (1986) and a whole lot of Groundhog Day (1993)
Add a dash of Starship Troopers (1997) and Matrix (1999) too
Then let it rise for a hundred years or two
And that's the recipe for Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

(Lyrics from Recipe of Love, sorry, not skilled enough to make it rhyme)

I like this!!

I like this alot.

The beginning of the film is probably one of Tom Cruise most original openings!! And unpredictable!!!

Did I mention I LIKE THIS ALOT!!

Who would have thunk that Emily Blunt can be so buff!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Doug Liman is BACK!!!

RUN!! RUN I SAY to watch this movie.

Manga's ending (or rather, novel's ending) does not work well in a lot of cultures. Japanese love those sad endings but American is a big no no.

The source materials sort of goes like this. Apparently the "reset time" can be activated as long as there is a receptor which is around when the special alien dies. And apparently they figure out Rita has become one of the receptor so in order to break the time loop Rita must die. I suspect lots of people will be disgusted with such ending in the cinema.

Sorry to say this movie still rank below X-Men 2: DOFP but still enjoyable. Its definitely a thumbs up for all the gamers as we went through the same process when playing computer games.

It's not that serious la, just avoid the afternoon. If you go at maybe 9pm or later/11am there should be a minimal amount of 2".

I usually go 1st screening in the morning. Normal non school day even if it is a hot movie the cinema will be half empty. But when school holidays comes don't expect this luxury. Night time also usually to crowded.. I really hope it still be in cinema after this 3 week break bcs I see many good review.
