After a week consideration, I think I will buy SC2, but I did some surveys and SC2 SEA server gave me some bad impression, not sure whether is it true, there few questions that I've been wondering:

1) SEA server is dead? in what way? Find game will take 15-30 minutes?

2) I am using both Unifi 5MBPS and 384 kbps internet connectivity, 5Mbps is of course sufficient, but what if I play at Korea/Taiwan server? how will the ping fair? and is 384 kbps is enough for SEA server? I recently decided to quit DOTA2, 384kbps in DOTA2 brings me to somewhere 80-120 ping, never more than that but it is playable at those pings, I wonder how high will the ping gets me in SC2.

3) Any hacks happening around recently at SC2? I was an ex Maple Story players for around a year, after I found out that there are a lot of people hacking and stuff, I stopped immediately, I just hate unfair game.

4) I saw some post regarding people that bought SC2 and have to wait for their transaction to get through, then only can get the game, still happening?

1) SEA server is less populated than the other countries yes but it won't take 15-30 minutes lol. 2-3 minutes for me when I search for 1v1. Team games may take longer but not 10-15 minutes lol. You may expect to fight the same opponent a few times (depends on the time you're playing)

2) I am also using UNIFI 5MBPS (5-5) I don't think the max bandwidth you use is the issue. The Ping is not related directly to that as it is physical time latency not the amount of data you can transfer. SEA Server should be fine. Korea and NA feels delayish for me but others say it isn't.

3) Hacks will happen in every game. However hacks in this game are relatively beatable until you meet someone of equal skill level. Sheer macro can outright win games against opponents.

4) If you buy directly (Box version), it shouldn't be a problem. I never faced such issue myself. You can also download the client ahead in advance using the Starter Edition (Client is the same, only account limitations).

With Global Play enabled, you don't have to worry about what server to buy. Just switch whenever you feel like.

The digital download is much cheaper than box set. I forgot by how much but get the digital bundle if you're not keen on the contents of the disc box.

Digital Download is like RM180 box bundle is RM250 so there is quite a bit of difference... I'm playing on NA server mainly and there is absolutely no lag (5mbps unifi) Played a few games on Korea before and no lag there either... only place im getting abit of delay is on the Europe servers. On the SEA servers, games take less than a min to find for 1v1 for me.

Why do you need to think a lot when getting this game ? If you like the game.. get it, no question asked.

Waste money or not .. it all depends on the player.. later you play SC2 HOTS then you feel no kick if you keep on losing since you are the only one who control all the units and there will be no friends backing you up... unless you play multiplayer like 2v2 , 3v3, 4v4.. Then again, its also depend you have good team playaaa.

don't think so la, I love SC2, and I am a computer game guy, I divide the game into 2 type of style, casual and serious. I was pretty darn serious about DOTA2, but the fact that the player give me more troubles than the game itself, I decided to quit, I would rather focus on single player game than team game, win or lose, you can blame everything on yourself, just like BabyKnight from Na'vi, he was a pretty good dota player himself, until one day he fedup with the team, and go for SC2 because he also said that in SC2, your skill depends on how good you are, in team game, it's different, no matter you are god like pro, give you 4 monkey teammates, you will still lose, so, I am suddenly a anti team game guy

No one can quit DOTA2 .. I play either DOTA 2 or SC2hots, but problem is I am working on sea and have limited time on shore.. so I have to play either one in a day but I don't play single player game. That mode is when I'm on sea where the internet is crappy and I get my SC2 account lock for accessing on that net line.

Now already locked due to suspicious activity.. need to go unlock it when I get back home on Sunday !!!

If you log in your SC2, make sure you log it on your own desktop or laptop. Try logging to other PC or net line will get it lock, must be something in the line it detected as somewhere else.. but then again I think I got lock cause I didn't update my profile in my lappy using other net line. Usually I can vs A.I offline but my mistake for not updating it cause me to get lock when I try to update using other line .. huhuhuhuhuuuu

SEA usually got people Maphack and nothing can be done about it so I usually play Amerikant server where maphacker face greater justice if caught.

yup, some of them even send scouting probe to ur probe to prevent u proxy even before u plant ur 1st pylon also have.. u just need be lucky enough to meet them on ladder

Maphacker have no skill at all. Just like DOTA WC3, when a person who always maphack jump to DOTA2.. They get their ass whopped hard.

i don't think that is any difference between map hack in sc2 or in dota 1.

in sc2 as long you dont cheese and have good marco n mirco n scout as well should be no problem. just like in dota 1 when u played in dota 1 10 games 9 games is map hack and still not much difference also since is based on your skill to win.

i also play both dota 2 and sc2, if you really like sc2 u should mb try the started edition to check whether suit your gameplay or not.

just wonder 5mb unifi, how come you have 90 - 120 ping in SEA server dota 2 ? desktop + wifi ?

Well I guess Im just old I dont dota nor dota 2 used to play abit of dota but then it was cos of war3, prefered melee war3 always

War 3 I play a lot back then but due to decline of people play I stop and turn my attention to dotaWC3. So bored play the WC3 cause food reach 100 max, so I just use archer a lot, hero by 2. SC2 is still at 200 max follow the SC/BW. But the balance done by Dildo Kim are too Unbalance ... oh well I have to adapt anyway .. FOR THE SWARM !! FOR THE ZERG !!

I call him Dildo Kim cause he prefer to keep buffing his fav race, terren and protoss. Zerg he keep nerf them.. That Dildo takes his reference at pro-player but never notice if it could effect the much lesser people, he balance what he thinks it right. Then again he balance to race he like while the Zerg people have to step up just to keep on winning.

Skytoss would equal to most of your army being air units (Void rays, phoenix, oracle, carrier, tempest) etc.
