Photoshop...?

erm, i have been using Photoshop for little over a year and i have never seen an "animation" pallete.

Adobe does however have an animation software which is Image Ready, where you can create animated gif files.

Correct me if i am wrong, any other more expret Photoshop users but i dont think there is an animation pallete.

...is there? smile.gif

since when PS CS2 becomes 12.0...

in any case it seems you don't know just yet how the animation pallete works. its kinda hard to explain since I'm not that good in explaining, but here goes. In pallete window, the 1st frame is of course the 1st thing that will show up. Lets say you want to show something else, you need to make a new frame 1st. After that check the layer you want to show in the next frame. For instance Frame 1 is Layer A, Frame 2 is Layer B. On the 1st frame, hide Layer B so Layer A will be on the 1st frame. Then, make a new frame. Now unhide Layer B, and hide Layer A. Then apply that transition thingy I forgot what its name to make the animation smoother.

Okay that is one bad explanation... rclxub.gif

if u wanna explain animation.. use the old school film as an exmaple. wink.gif

if you've seen the film negatives of an old camera, you see a lot of large frames (squares) that will hold your images whenever you take a photo.

animation is basically a sequence of these frames moving at a speed of averaging 12 frames per second normally. the reason we see the object moving is because our brain is tricked by the data of movement interpreted by our eyes. smile.gif

and it seems that the Photoshop CS2 has the animation built-in now. that I never knew.

Using Photoshop to do animation is crazy. I come across a studio which use photoshop to color their line drawing, then export as tga and import into after effects again. Siau... The easiest way to do animation will be Flash, or a software call ToonBoom Studio.

It depends on what kind of animation you want to make, if you only need a simple .GIF animation, Photoshop is more than enough, it is not hard once you figured out how it works.
