Pentium 805D can easily hit 3.6++Ghz... of course with overclocking any piece of device it depends on your luck.
I'm running at 1.56 volts at 4.0ghz... Of course a C2D will easily beat even an overclock 805D... |

QUOTE(badon @ Nov 29 2006, 10:52 PM) ermm... im thinkin of getting pentiumD 820 2.8ghz for my pc.... Bro, IMHO, its better to just get a C2D...it will be cheaper in the long run and your cpu wont be obsolete so fast izzit will run ok with stock fan cooling? if i have to buy 3rd party cooling fan then i have to top up money$$, better i go for c2D... i test my fren pc some time ago and the idle temp for this pentiumD 820 is 50*C and 64*C when playing game for a while... that aredi exceed the max temp recommended for pentiumD 820 rite... |

I was testing out another proc in my mobo for a couple of days....after that remounted my 805d...without wiping off and reapply a fresh coat of AS5.... my temps were all over the place...proc was thermal throttling even at 3.6ghz....lol...
(Note to self - reapply new layer of thermal paste everytime remounting CPU) Took out my 805D, wiped it down...then felt kinda free, went and lapped the proc After reapplying a new coat of AS5...temps are fantastic... In a non air conditioned room (proc running at 4.0Ghz) Idle - low 30's C Load - 50C (load was done with 2 instaces of prime95) Let AS5 settle then gonna try higher...lol..things ppl done with too free during weekends..lol Will try to post some pics up later..wanna let it burn in first. |

Wow...totally forgot about the 805D thread....lol
What hsf are you using? Rams, provide the speed rating? pls list down the voltage settings in the bios. The 805D is incredibly easy to OC...mainly coz the FSB is set at a ridiculously low 166Mhz... |

QUOTE(fesick @ Jun 27 2007, 08:45 PM) Fes, you should be able to do more than 3.2. What mobo are you using? Previously I was on a gigabyte ga-8n-sli and even on that mobo I managed to wring 4.0 out of the proc at Vcore of 1.57 but i was on water cooling. If using Air cooling i only managed 3.6 before the proc's thermal throttling kicked in. |
