Saw this priceless comment on the BBC's article about Cesc to Man Utd:
"I can't see Fab getting a game ahead of Tom Cleverly" lmao |

This transfer window is getting weirder and weirder and more absurd by the day.
Now Marca is saying Atletico has agreed terms with Cazorla but not yet with Arsenal and that they have an official in London to discuss a move. http://www.marca.com/eventos/directo/2013/...ilovivimos.html |

I believe Chelsea are in for just one more striker and that is Rooney.
I'd doubt they would still go for Higuain if they get Rooney. Higuain is more of a backup plan in case they don't get Shrek. If they go for both it would leave Lukaku out in the cold again. |

QUOTE(HiperPanda @ Jul 19 2013, 01:07 AM) Y its better to get Suarez than Higuain: While I agree Suarez, to me is a better player overall I disagree with a lot of those points.1) Suarez is EPL proven striker while Higuain isnt. 2) Suarez is 24yo, he has lots of time to offer to club n lots of time to develop into another level, while Higuain is now 26 n lesser time left to offer to club. 3) Suarez is energetic n fast, while Higuain is slow n lazy, just depend on his finishing ability. 4) Suarez was last season 2nd best striker in term of goal scored, 23 goals while Higuain was 8th with 16 goals. 5) Suarez assist better last season, 8 assist in league compare to Higuain, 6. 6) Suarez is a fighter for the club, he dived for penalty to get goal for club, he is dedicated by showing no mercy towards opponents - he bite when needed. 7) Suarez is worth at 40m if compare to Higuain at 40m. Seriously Higuain 40m tag is wayyyyyyyyy overrated!!! 8) Suarez can act superbly in commercial advertisement, while Higuain isnt. 9) Suarez is more handsome than Higuain! 10) Suarez is better than Higuain!! nuff said. Higuain is definitely not slow nor lazy. And he is as much of a fighter for the club than Suarez is. Clearly you don't watch much of Real Madrid or Higuain for that matter. Ultimately it boils down to who fits the team better rather than who is the better footballer individually. My heart says Suarez because as mentioned he does seem the better player but my head says Higuain because a clinical goalscorer seems to be the missing puzzle in our jigsaw at the moment. |

QUOTE(rickysay @ Jul 19 2013, 11:21 AM) As clear as the light has shown, we need a world class footballer who must be both feared of and clinical. Suarez fits the bill. Higuain is still unproven in EPL. Suarez has the reputation to topple down EPL defenders, yes EPL defenders. He dazzles in dribble only Messi can rival with which is both as spectacular and causes opponent fear. Not to mention Suarez has a big winning mentality as shown in previous games (the bite and hand of god). This drives our team's poor mentality last season. I wouldn't term Suarez as clinical IMO. One of Liverpool's failings last year is not being able to convert chances which led to too many draws with the smaller teams and Suarez at times was the biggest culprit of missing some really really routine easy chances. The stats speak for itself posted just a few posts above. If you call that sort of goals to strike rate clinical then Emile Heskey should be considered clinical as well back in the day. True he scored lots last year but that is only because Liverpool created a gazillion chances. What we need is a no nonsense striker that sticks the ball in the net given the opportunity and in that respect Higuain is clearly the winner over Suarez. |

QUOTE(HateFakers @ Jul 22 2013, 06:28 PM) I've only seen him once for 20 mins when he came on in the game vs Italy in the Confederations Cup.TBH was a little invisible and hardly had a touch during the time he was on. A little mixed about this one but then again if Arsene is willing to make him Arsenal's record signing (if the 21 million figures are to be believed) at such a young age then there must be something special. |

Zelalem has looked great with his vision and passing in this tour but those who think he is ready for game time in the BPL is sorely mistaken.
He would do well just to get into the Carling Cup squad against the smaller teams and probably making way for more experienced players against the bigger teams IMO. Meanwhile, Arsene has publicly rubbished reports about us having signed Bernard. At the moment Arsene looks like the kind of guy that enjoys telling little kids that Santa is not real at Christmas parties. |

QUOTE(HiperPanda @ Jul 23 2013, 12:10 PM) All cheers to Zelalem..but somhow if ant1 noticed, we r really short of defensive centreback right now. TV still in nursing his back problem n reported to miss few mths when d league start. Now Kos also hit by injury leaving us with only Per n makeshift CB, Sagna while our youngster eg. Miguel still far from making his way to EPL. Yeap Williams would be a decent buy. Btw Williams is from Swansea not Aston Villa. What happen if at start of season, Kos hit injury or miss game thru suspension n Per also being hit by injury? Sagna alone as experienced player (eventho he not natural CB) isnt enuff to assure our backline secure. Really do hope so AW, after all (if true) that we had up bid to 30m/40m Suarez or Higuain 30m, just accept AV demand of 10m for Ashley Williams. 10m for experienced CB who had played more than two season in EPL is acceptable, plus we shld have accept that when its come to English nationality players the price is abit higher. But still at 10m i think its worth d money (unless the player himself ask insane wages) |

And the madness continues....
11.17 BST: The Daily Star reports that Arsenal are ready to offer £30million for Benfica star Eduardo Salvio. The 23-year-old has been capped for Argentina, and won two Europa League trophies in his time at Atletico Madrid. From Soccernet. lulz |

QUOTE(raizo7 @ Jul 23 2013, 11:12 PM) Higuain - stalled, as Madrid asking for more money. He wants Arsenal move. We prefer Suarez and/or Rooney. Means all these wasn't even done in the first place. Remembered seeing so many posts of all these being "done" deals.Fellaini - pre-agreement, offer on the table, can't agree on wages. Might end-up at United instead. Other options: Cesar - pre-agreement, its all up to Wenger to decide, but must willing to take a pay-cut of his current wages. Bernard - as Gervinho's replacement (maybe). Source:ITKs It is only a done deal when the player puts pen to paper. The word "done" is being used too loosely nowadays. |

Let them la reject all they want. When it is approaching the close of the transfer window and RM only offers 20 million we will see if they take that 40 million or not.
Otherwise good luck to them paying 100k per week to a sulky player who might cause more controversy and further derail their season for another year. Can't blame them for thinking Suarez is worth more than 40 million. After all they paid 35 million for Andy Caroll. This post has been edited by sigheart: Jul 24 2013, 02:25 PM |
