Was trying to find this in solar time (sunway and sungei wang) but no luck, such a nice looking watch with that dial and blue hands, but it was discontinued.

you can easily search some online smile.gif best if you can place it on your first post. Or if you want, I can recreate this thread, but you will need to close this.

Anyone know any shop in KL preferably around petaling jaya with good orient selection and decent pricing?
Or any recommended online store to buy?
Looking for Orient Blue Ray, seem hard to find even online

Solar Time is one of the shop that brings wide range of Orient watches. I think the nearest Solar Time outlet to you is in sunway, else you can go sg wang. smile.gif

This 1 different model, there are a few model that look kinda similar to the 1 mention but a lot of it's unique design is not present. (Date on the left, obtruding pattern design thru out the whole dial and the not centered power gauge meter) Those unconventional way of placement and design make the model quite unique and worth collecting despite it's basic mechanical movement and build quality

There is a orient watch shop located inside Pavilion KL, Tokyo street zone.
Bought a Orient Elite sport (ET0H001B) and Orient Mako diving (EM66002D) watch from there last week.
Price is very reasonable, got 25% discount with additional 10% discount using cimb credit cards.

the orient star is a worthy upgrade.
better case, nicer dial, movement can handwind.
strap also nicer, but not that great...at least that one can be changed.

There's a seller in lelong. Citytime i believe. Price quite reasonable but based in Kuching. tongue.gif
You might wanna look for a shop you frequently buy from who's willing to order it for u.
Pretty sure 20% is not the best discount for orients

DIY strap change is not difficult. I suppose it is a spring bar. All you need it those smaller flat head screw driver to remove strap.

Hi guys....just found this thread....erm......i am wearing Orient watch also but i think is kinda of old fashion as its a gift from my grand father long long time ago (around year 198x) can consider as antic?? my mom gave it to me last two years when she is tidying her safe...
then when i went to change the battery, the technician told me that this watch has no more spare part don't spoil it as there will be no replacement parts.

dont really care about the 'stars'.
the new saturation diver basically has the orient star movement in it which can hack and wind, unlike the 'stars' version.

Been looking at the ray raven as well.
How is it holding up so far. Heard bad reviews on the IP coat on the bracelet. Easily scratched and the coating come out easily. Would also like to know the coat on the watch case as well.

is it okay to get the blue ray without local warranty?

if i buy online, the warranty is just 1 year limited, so i guess its not international, must return to them.

or i not need to worry because most prob will last 5 years or more?

Can't remember the price, bought mine few yrs back. Should be in the range of RM500 - 600 currently.

I was in Empire Subang Solar Time yesterday. I saw the Mako XL with white dial and green / orange bezel in the display rack.

Can't remember the price, bought mine few yrs back. Should be in the range of RM500 - 600 currently.

I was in Empire Subang Solar Time yesterday. I saw the Mako XL with white dial and green / orange bezel in the display rack.

It's a hacked Nato Strap from a smaller Timex Weekender, that is why the strap doesn't fit 100% as it is 1mm shorter in width.

This is the Mako, but not XL. You can tell the difference by looking at the face, there are numbers instead of just a shape to represent the hours. smile.gif

There are plenty of places that sell XL, I've seen a few in Klang, I think there is a specialty shop in Pavillion (think got 15-20% discount with the CIMB CC) or you can walk about Masjid India area and just browse the old uncle watch shops. They usually have a selection of Orients.

The last place I tried it Mako on was at Central Market, 2nd floor. There is a shop there that I usually goes to change my battery and they also carry quite a range of Orients. nod.gif

No. That's the Orient Mako.

Smaller than Mako XL, fits smaller wrist.

Nope. This is Mako. Mako XL is larger (44mm) and the dial got no arabic number.

I think the list price should be the same at RM1,100 since it's the same type.

The shop owner will probably discount it to RM700

Such elegant quote blush.gif

I'm in two minds on it.. This will probably be alongside my Mako as my daily beater.. I am honestly not sure if I'm comfortable in having a 1k watch as a daily beater.. but by god, the looks .. drool.gif

retrograde with brown strap.

Initially wanted to get the rose gold model, was told that Malaysia no longer carry it by a salesperson in Sunway (solar time). Went with this instead.

The following week was checking out the outlet in empire, saw the rose gold version. So pissed. Felt cheated.

Oh yes, i did ask the salesperson about stock availability and to give other outlets a call to check, which she insisted it's no longer available.

Not gonna shop from solar time again.

The real thing looks pretty good actually. Only minor issue is that I didn't like the sapphire symbol on the dial (feels low rent) and the original strap is crap but that's easily rectified.

Visited 2 shops at Pavillion.
Only got the rose gold and gold. hmm.gif

Priced at MYR1150 though, 20% discount with Citibank/CIMB credit cards, still 920 bucks.

What's the street price for this?

Got my watch few days ago but i found out that there is some fair scratches on bezel. Heard that cape cod polish cloth can polish those scratches. Is that true? Am afraid it will make it even worse. pls give some advises. Thanks.

You might be right bro... Was at Solar Time Empire Subang, they just have the white and black dial on gold and rose gold

RRP RM1150, SS should be about 100 cheaper...

Didn't try them on since they are not appealing at all compared the the mythical grey dial doh.gif

Might hunt around again when I have time tongue.gif

Hi Guys smile.gif

I received an Orient watch as a gift from my friend.

Not sure what model it is, but it does look pricey.

Just wondering, do any of you guys know the price for this watch?

How to know the model?

Thanks!

The deployant clasp is originally from the original bracelet...

The rubber strap bought separately. The deployant clasp that comes with the rubber was not up to scratch... Coincidentally the size is the same with original one...

So mix and match... not bad oso...

a reputable online seller (been purchased couple of watches from him) quoted me a price orient diver 300m wv0041el, for rm2980.00, preorder from orient distributor. Is the price quoted ok or you have any other cheaper source? I've been survey around shops the cheapest i can get is around rm3.4k.

i had a Planet ocean 45.5mm, and even i found this orient diver to be too big and heavy sweat.gif

think rm2.9k is as good as it gets already.

Hello guys !

I thought i would just ask you all about Orient because i have no idea on which watch should i get .

Budget is around RM300-350 , would prefer a casual watch that i can wear everyday , that suits a guy between 18-20 years of age .

Would really appreciate your help ! 😁

Any specific style? Divers, Pilot, Minimalistic.
I do recommend the Orient MAKO XL & Orient Flight, if you could add in a little more budget.

No specific style , i love some what classy / simple watches with leather strap rather than stainless steel because it doesn't suit me .

Well budget wise , because it's gonna be a gift from a friend so i am not sure if i can increase the budget , haha .

By the way , is there a price list reference ( online shop ) for Orients watches in RM that i can have a look or i must visit the shop in order to know the price smile.gif

No idea abt that model. But other models that i can recognise are more expensive.

I use www.citytime.my as benchmark. Always use 30% discount of retail price as starting point

Got it at a rather inflated price of close to 500, I reckon that shop uncle knew this was a long discontinued model.
And yes, that's a Eulit perlon strap smile.gif

I also got my local shop to order the blue retrograde as well. Waited since before CNY. Got the update last week that they couldn't bring it in. Weird thing is they occasionally bring in JDM model like the Classic with power reserve which are positioned slightly slanted to the side (something like WZ0131FD) but they can't get the retrograde.
They offered me the new blue dial skeleton though. Not my cup of tea. But the blue dial is really nice.
Guess i'll be going for the black dial and strap it with leather.

Try the Orient Union. Should be around your budget. It's conservative as well so it suitable for your father.

If the second hand moves almost continuously, it's automatic. If it moves per second, it's quartz. Quartz are extremely accurate, compared to autos which will probably gain/lag 5 to 20 seconds per day. However quartz are cheap to make, autos are bought because of the prestige.

A few tips:
1) The word "Automatic" is below the Orient logo so u will know it is auto and not battery-powered.
2) Auto or mechanical watches are harder to make, assembled by hand mostly, so are usually more ex compared to battery (quartz) models.
3) Pros and cons but generally collectors prefer auto watches because they are built to last a lifetime, does not have batts which leaks and spoil the whole watch etc.
... & so on...

i wanted to buy an orient today, but watches with a diameter <42mm without crown doesn't look nice on my hand. bought an edifice instead. looking forward to purchase an orient in the future, specifically the orient arena or the rectangular day date model.

Same. Orient models usually have few different colours one.

We have a landing page especially for Orient watch brands. Do check them out at http://bit.ly/18VV47X

Our items are sourced from sellers from all over the world, so there are good deals at the site. wink.gif

We also provide purchase assistance if there are any queries.smile.gif

the shop that i tried the gold coloured one is at pertama complex. i like going to the watch shops there as they provide more discounts compared to the ones in the shopping mall. they can slash up to 50% from RRP, unlike the ones in shopping complexes only 15%-25%. will order from her if she can order the stock. nod.gif

i searched for the model that i wanted on ur website, EVAF005W & EVAF004B but they're not available. do u carry these models?

btw sorry to say, for most of the models i was searching for, the price is expensive compared to some watch shops and other online sites la bro. one example is the orient aviator that u're selling for around 700. u can get it for around rm500 or less. jgn marah aa bro. just my 2 cents not inclusive of GST. icon_rolleyes.gif

went and looked at the new bambino today...looks pretty nice in real life too.
seems a little bit bigger than the bambino v1 due to the dial design with markers extending all the way out.
the grey dial doesnt look too bad in that bad light, but the blue dial looks abit boring...probably needs to be seen in nice sunlight.

I don't like the blue dial at all. Mine is the "rose goal" dial (scroll up to see).
Another tip, if u are a watch collector try to avoid gold colour as it will tarnish after a few years. Gold coloured dials on the inside are okay as it won't be exposed to your sweat etc.

And don't pay RM720 for the Bambinos...that's only the Recommended Retail Price (RRP).

nitpicking only...
perhaps if it was just a little thinner...but it still goes well with overall design that takes cues from vintage pieces...just like how bambino v1 and v2 do...but without being a straight out copy of anything really.

perhaps if u actually bothered to follow properly which looked like u didnt... u would realise it is comparing with the design cues of the bambino v3 with other vintage pieces.

Nitpicking la.. Should have been thinner to compliment the ticks and should have given it a bit more depth than just that slapdash bland metal tweezer look. Can't argue I really like the face.

There has always been just one small thing here and there with Bambino that have prevented me from getting it.

I would say good price. Grab it before it's gone. Personally I don't like the blue dials but its individual preference.
I paid 500 for mine, with the rose gold dials on white base... I know on the high side but it's the last piece so no choice. rclxms.gif

It's the last piece in the store too, display unit, but they say they can order a new one for me and get it by next Tuesday. So I lock in the price first before GST hits tongue.gif

Anyway, I used this website to nego the price with them. http://www.dutyfreeislandshop.com/orient-s...r-elegant-watch

The website is selling for RM446 including the box. I'm willing to pay slightly more to save myself of the hassle of shipping and future service. I love the blue hand!!

Doesn't matter which version it is, the bambino are priced at RM720 generally with a usual 20% discount.

For RM408, I will say take it, if you like it smile.gif

Where you get that price from? Can share?

If really can get for 408, I would buy a few quickly. rclxms.gif

Btw all gold plated body will fade after a few years... just a matter of sooner or later. That's why collectors prefer silver body.
