sometimes it's not a must for subwoofer to only carry low bass. the key is "balanced setup".

Most subwoofer are able to handle up to 250hz and slowly fade to 1khz...in some system that the midbass do not strong enough, subwoofer will need to play a little part in producing some mid bass. In this type of system, you will hear some low vocal coming out from the sub if u open the trunk and direct listen to it. But if u sit inside the car, you wont hear it.

If you set to 80-100, you might lose your front stage and the subbase will appear to come from the back!!!
